Zeke carries:
2 Games - 22 (3.5 avg) and 19 (2.6 avg)
5 Games - 15 or less (4.7 avg), 15 rushes 3 games

TP has not carried the ball 15 times all season.
TP highest carries/game are: 14, 13, 12, 11.

Personally, I like 15 for Pollard, 12 Zeke, 3 Davis/Dowdle. No matter how you slice it a run share is definitely the way to go, but TP should get the most touches due to him being a Playmaker.

Zekes injury timeline suggests that’s when it will improve. Shouldn’t be too shocking

The problem is it does.

The role Zeke has had this year is what Pollard needs.

Pollard needs to start drives and just simply be on the field more.

We talk about Zeke being a better short yardage back but 3rd and 1 that Pollard took to the house is because if he gets by the first line of defense he is nearly impossible to tackle in the open field.
That’s something we will have to hold our Mgmt and coaching accountable for .

I think it depends on who the DL is. If they're speed players, Zeke's power is probably more beneficial. If they're slower, power players, Tony's speed would be advantageous.

Hopefully, they use the two in more creative ways than they have in the past. Last week was encouraging from a play calling perspective.

Zeke is a good locker and though pollard is better runner, zeke can help wear down the defense

Will be an interesting situation as on one hand you have Booger, dug in and wanting to prove he was right about that contract, and on the other is the coaching staff with the job of putting the most effective RB on the field and the only way Elliott wins that is in pass protection, he is still a top back at that.

There is another hand, the players. I wonder who the OL wants out there, a back slow to the hole or one already through it so they can move onto the next block? Or concerned if the pass rusher, headed to their QB, is going to get picked up?

The OC was forced to utilize Pollard more this last game. I also what to add, the offense playing uptempo was a smart move. Why in the he@@ would we change that formula? Are we that stupid? Zeke can do the same role as Malik Davis did in the Bears game. The first 4 scores we a product of speed, quickness, and quick strike ability. Pollard started the Bears game and he should start this game as well. Our offensive coaches are not so good that they can "choose" to change from what really works. This team offensively needs an "identity ". The identity we used against the Bears was reminsent of the early days when Dak was most effective.
Yep...that was one tough great team...the mighty Bears.....that will work against our next lesser opponents for sure!@ good thinking.

If they want, and I believe need, a power run game to wear on the D then they do need Elliott in there because he is still knocking tacklers back and that takes its toll by the 4thQ.

Forget his contract, and forget Prescott's and Schultz's as well, the O needs all three. Waste of time to lament about contracts once the season is underway.

As far as Schultz's, I do not fault them for that. Losing Cooper and Wilson forced them to keep at least one of the QB's favorite targets and they did try to get a lesser long-term deal done. They did the next best thing by getting more TE's to give better options.

No. I think most of us would rather see Pollard, but Jerry thinks otherwise. He overpaid Zeke and now insists he plays.
That’s because most people don’t understand. The concept. It’s obvious. Elliot pounds the defense wears them out. Which makes Tonys, chances Of breaking a big one, even greater. . I hope that helps

You don't know what you have if you never let them play. Cooper Rush is a prime example. All the Dak homies rail on Rush and talk about how terrible he is when he's only had 6 NFL starts. How is he supposed to work on his skills and make improvements when he never plays? Same goes for Pollard - if he is constantly riding the bench so that greedy Zeke can play, how is he supposed to improve? How can anyone say Pollard can't carry the load when he is rarely asked to do so? He looked pretty damn good last week, but people like you don't think he can do it. I would take Pollard over Zeke and not even think twice about it.
Cooper Rush LMAO. There’s no example other than the fact is , he is a back up and that’s all he should be . You prove yourself on the practice squad. Forget it , I don’t know if you don’t want to understand . Or if you’re just saw tunnel vision blind against Prescott. Enjoy the game is the best you can, go Cowboys

Are we finally unanimous about one thing on this board?

Which is that Pollard is a better back at this point
No, he is not the better back. He’s just a different back.

Just because you’d rather see him. Doesn’t make it the right choice. As much as I enjoy seeing him also. I understand the concept of sledge hammer/ slash . Tony Pollard’s chances become greater every time Elliot runs the ball before him. Who do you think the defense would rather tackle.

Every time Tony Pollard gets the ball after Elliot. His chances are greater. The defense would much rather tackle Tony than Elliot

You're right. This approach requires the coaches to get a feel for what's going on during the game.
