I’m enjoying the hell out of it. We are a good football team and the youth on this team is what gets me excited. I like watching fresh new players that can actually play.

Same, and Mike has been doing a very good job coaching this year, along with Quinn of course.

I’ve always loved Mike’s blue collar mentality. I’ve been in the minority but he’s a really good coach. When you take Mike, Quinn, and Bones you have an all star staff.

I've been quite consistent in my support and being patient with him. He's showing that the patience is worth it. I'd love it if we beat Rodgers and it turns out it was Mike all along. That'd be a beautiful way to shatter Rodgers's ego even more.

top 5 is pretty high for an off the ball linebacker, especially one who sat out the year before
Darius Leonard and Roquan Smith are off the ball LB's.

No pick is too high for generational difference makers.

Reid , this is a fair argument especially for a fan who has admittedly argued that the NFL is largely separated by the Elite QB teams and those without.

And for someone who has argued and or lobbied that you think or believe our ownership has done a good job and has turned the corner while also being a critic of our QB , the Cowboys have definitely not prioritized attempting to acquire this era a more Elite QB which has made their efforts to build a championship caliber team more difficult .
Dak ha started for essentially 4 years. IN those 5 years we had seasons of 12 and 13 and 10 wins while winning the division. Our front office DOES believe that Dak is elite. They paid him and they are rolling wit him. I can not say i blame them. How hard is it to land elite qb play? The Dolphins have looked since Marino, the Bengals since Boomer (and He was good not ELITE!)

I have never said we are going to the SB before, even though we were clearly good enough to do so in 14 and 16. I need to see a little more from this offense since we havent had Dak long enough to see our WRs, but if Dak starts playing like the 1st 6 games last year.... then I think this team is good enough to go to the SB.

Also, remember what the 2nd part of my argument about elite QBs has always been. Elite QBs dont win it every year. It just gives you a real shot, but doesnt ensure anything. The 2nd part is a team with a serious ball hawking defsne can take you there.... and this defense is something special. They get to the QB, they create TOs, and they can score themselves.
Add that to a very weak NFC and not only do I think we can get there, I think we will get there, because unlike so many in this forum, I havent bought into the iggles hype. Go look at their schedule.

Yup.

For some odd reason, many seem to be overlooking the fact that Aaron Rodgers is a perennial choker, as well as a crybaby little b. Dude crapps the bed every year in the playoffs. I mean, he just curls up in a fetal position.

Nobody wants to give McCarthy any credit for winning that SB but he's the only one that's been able to do it with Rodgers.

And Rodgers has been simply going insane the last couple or so years. Someone needs to get him under control. Needs a husband.

Not everyone who provides critical thinking are half empty glass fans . They just aren’t 24/7 cheerleaders. Which there isn’t thing wrong with that. We need cheerleaders. They serve a purpose too.

Fortunately we have some fans who look beyond and dig deeper with evaluations and analysis which often critique and compliment. There is a place for those who can offer and provide such.

And it’s not always for the more sensitive fan. As it can come off negative and often critique some of our favorite players, etc.

There’s room for all types of fans but when we have one segment calling the others losers then it’s simply an immature or lazy attempt to discredit their position when basically are unable or unwilling to take on the argument with intellect content and substance .
I’m referring to posters who do nothing but complain 24x7 365. That’s not critical thinking. That’s asinine thinking.

First off, I am as critical of the owner and his son as anyone because I just flat do not like them but some of the criticism thrown their way is overdone.

He is not the worst GM, by far, in the NFL, either now or as long as he's been doing it. The 26 years of wandering in the wilderness makes him an easy target.

I see blame for Elliott's contract and for Schultz's but is the blame for Schultz's balanced by praise for picking Ferguson and Hendershot for better options in this off season?

The blame for Prescott's is overblown because the crime was not giving themselves any options but the draft and what would a trade up in picks cost and was that worth the risk? They did what they had to do and the criticism for not doing the deal earlier ignores the fact they tried to do that. Most likely at the value they placed on him and not what the market dictated.

So, they sit at 6-2, with a backup QB steering most of those but where is the credit for Cooper Rush?

Here is what I am thinking is happening to too many of you. You are letting the past throw shade on your sunshine of this season. You just can't let it go.

Let those 26 years go and relish this season that is right now. They have the best defense in the last 27 years and a run game they seem content to lean on. This is a good team.

Yes, they could lose in the wild card round and keep that string going but why worry about that now? That's 10 games away and a lot is going to happen between then and now. So, forget then and embrace now.

Don't you really want to be happy being a fan? Or have we become happy blaming the FO for everything to the point that we do not see all of the positive moves they've made? Are we too happy being critical?

Believe me, it is not fun for me to give them credit but there is not any analyst that would have given them a chance at 6-2 when Prescott went down. I know, I heard them all.

So far in the 2022 season, this FO has done a great job and better than anyone here would have predicted. We are so busy criticizing them, the good things slip by us. And there are some really good things.
If Zeke is on this team next year and Pollard is not, then it's a problem. Unless somebody just gives Pollard a huge contract. If we are forced to choose between the two, it can't be Zeke. That would just be Jerry doubling down on his bad decision to give him the massive contract.

He’s not the worst GM. He’s not close to the best either but he thinks he is. And therein lies the problem.

I would agree that with the rest of the recent strong NFC teams down this year the NFC does look more getable this year and our Parsons led defense does provide some hope . I can sense something myself this season could be different . And I’ve presented several positive threads addressing this.

The fact we haven’t had this caliber defense before I hadn’t felt we were serious contenders even in the seasons we had 12 or 13 wins which were driven my excellent offenses.

But I won’t start saying we are going to the Super Bowl. It serves no other purpose but to over hype the season while setting us up for disappointment. Let’s see how we look in January.

And no I didn’t believe Dak is Elite just because our FO paid him as such and believe he is. Is he enough with good supporting cast and a strong defense . Perhaps . We shall see. .

But we haven’t put together consecutive playoff seasons in 15 years and therefore not a consistent contender. Overall this era suks and Id argue more of a model for mediocrity.

Spot on about the youth. That's what gets me excited as well. They've almost all got a few more years left of playing at a high level.

We shall see.

All the personnel moves the FO took to replace the loss of Glenn and ensure adequate depth at WR: NOTHING
And yet they secured the No. 1 seed and had the second rank offense.
They were undone by injuries not talent.

Mediocrity... describes 85% of the league.
