That ‘85 bears team beat the Cowboys 44-0 at Texas Stadium. I think it’s the worse home loss in Cowboys history.

The ‘85 bears defense is and will remain the gold standard for NFL defenses and as big a Cowboys fan as I am, if you take the fan glasses off, our current defense is good, but certainly not great. No team can be in the discussion of “great” without winning several playoff games. Maybe we can this year, but we haven’t done anything yet.

Right now this team needs to win a game on Thanksgiving Day for the first time in 4 yrs!

LOl I love this board! 'so and so sucks"
"No they are great theyve figured it out"
"defense sucks"
'were on par with 85 bears"
Cowboy fandom is a mixed bag for sure

I don't think this defense is as good as the 2005 Chicago Bears defense, let alone the 1985 one.

really, changes , that would halp the pass game not the run defense, run d is still run d, they cant be seen as the 85 bears or doomsday defenses nor deserve a label, as those defenses would not have nearly allowed the bears to come back up by 21 and lost to gb up by 14.. rules didn't not change how team stops the run,. that effort and doing your job,. we have an elite pass rush but run defense is still suspect.

True but defense in those days were built to stop the run since most offense ran the ball. Honestly today's football has seen a major turn to the passing game and because that DC have gone to more nickel and dime defense that they run more often, especially Dallas. Kearse is not a LB but he pretty much plays LB in this defense. As offense evolves so does defense to stop them. I do think we are seeing offense get back to running the ball more and Quinn will need to adjust. Also this is a young developing defense Quinn is working with, I think many of these guys are developing. As I said Sam Williams is not the same player he was in week 1

and that says we are not ready for alabel, Our DC has not adjusted, and we do not have those types of LBs etc.. that GB and Bears game still high on my mind see that in the rearview. It will take more then beating MN to erase those games..

again, do we need labels this is an overaction thread. It happens i get it but i saw Cooks 11-72 what IF they were patient team used 3 Rbs and do what GB and Bears di to our D?

they did not.. lest see how they deal with NY on a short week who will commit to the run.

Dallas beat the bear, I agree GB was a disaster for the defense. Bears have a running QB which always puts pressure on. Also our offense played a big part in the Minn game, we scored every time we got the ball 7 drives in a row Dallas put up points hell we did not punt the ball 1 time until the 3rd qrt which. I think Dallas needs to continue to work on the run defense and I think they will but I will also say this is a damn good defense and has been a major factor in this team being 7-3. Giants Barkley put up 81 on us and Daniel Jones 79 yards rushing but in the end we still beat them with a backup QB

The defense is good, but this is not the 2000 Ravens defense or the 85 Bears. Stop the run and we will talk.

IM sorry im not letting the defense off for dak giving that defense a 28-7 lead and nearly allowed the bears to come back, got close there to one score. 477 yards rushing in 2 games.. im sorry but those games were bad defense,. Dak bailed them out of the bears game and obviously the GB game 28 point14 point 4th qtr lead is win for most teams and defense blew that.

than i see Cooks 11-72 , sure that stopping the run LOL the run d still has lots to prove.

AWESOME...but no.

If you want to be considered great, you have to string performances like this week's together. If that string of stellar performances doesn't include the playoffs, then it won't go down in the history books. No one 35 years from now is going to compare it to the 22 Cowboys if they don't win more games when it counts.

I'm ready for that. Be we aren't that yet.
