Not buying Cowboys hype

Spot on. There have been differences this season which have made it (not necessarily a watershed) a pleasant change from the same old way of operating with an active roster that on paper (Rush for nearly half the season, no Tyron, no Coop, no Gregory) isnt as competitive as 2021.

We've even cleaned up the CAP to a manageable level to build upon the young roster.

Fool's Gold....possibly, but as you say we have a pleasant/unexpected puncher's chance (and none of this really takes away from Jerry and the structure of the FO), but some of our fanbase should maybe enjoy a successful season.

I almost feel like this year we have become a harder more physical team as opposed to previous years when we were hyped but all us old fans really knew that it was a very soft team mentally and physically.

Micah Parsons and his work ethic enthusiasm and on field dominance makes us a harder more physical team. Especially on defense than we have had in recent memory.

Granted those penalties still glare and make us look like a very soft team mentally at times but I am hoping I do not have to view unsportsman like conduct blocks in the back false starts in some playoff game that undermines us this year our coaching staff would really have no excuse for that or should I say even less of an excuse than they had last year.

How many times have Cowboys fans buy into the hype, only to end the season with a disappointing conclusion.

Being a Dallas fan since 1977, seeing the Cowboys, in the playoffs, were a year thing. Winning playoff games and even getting to Superbowls once and a while.

Like seasons past, it has be enjoyable, seeing the Cowboys winning more games than losing. But I am not going to buy into the FOOLS GOLD Jerry sells fans since 1995.
Jerry wins every season b/c Dallas is the richest franchise in all of sports. At very least, Top 5. On the field, can't even get to a NFC Conference game. Until this team can get to one conference finals, not falling for it.
Dak has a losing playoff record, as did Romo did. A fan of both, but neither could produce in the playoffs.
So hopefully, this is that season to get to a NFC Conference. Don't have to win the darn game, just get there. Until then...fools gold
Couldn't agree more..always the same story every year. Can't help being neg it's been along time and the same issues.

Disagree. This team is good enough now. We have not had depth like this in a long time, especially on defense. Reducing presnap penalties and reducing slo starts will be the difference. We don't have to have a pro bowler at all 25 starting spots.
Agreed, the penalties always cost you in big games and the playoffs. They have got to get those under control, and am lost as to why they don't get it cleaned up as its been years of that crap now. I see McCarthy disgusted by them on the sidelines, he needs to carry that further and take some guys heads off about it. Bench some of these guys, send a message. I also don't get the repeated slow starts either- Moore can call good plays one drive and the very next call the dumbest ones- he makes no sense. He is like a lot of this team- hot/cold from play to play, drive to drive, half by half.

As Cowboys fans just having the Cowboys get to the NFC conference is setting the bar low. Whatever happened to the Dallas dynasty of making the playoffs each and every year?

So someone expresses their opinion about the false hope Dallas presents the last 25+ years based on their track record and you claim the guy is giving up? Just shut up already and go to whatever safe space you need to go to to hear only your opinion.
You are probably a good dude, but your posts seem to be unnecessarily mean spirited at times. It's probably on me because maybe I'm thinking an Army vet would be more classy.

I honestly think with all the gambles that Jerry took this offseason he has to be pleasantly surprised that so much of it panned out.
Other than a few penalties which were expected in a rookies learning curve our left tackle has been a very pleasant surprise.

Our tight end group is a real pleasure to watch and when all brought in together give us a real talented group that can catch passes or block for the running game .

Our receiving core whether the storm and looks pretty solid now with Michael Gallup back.

We actually learn that it was more intelligent to run Tony Pollard rather than trying to force Zeke to haul the load injured and both players are excelling this year

The whole offensive line came together surprisingly well Steel has become a solid player playing next to Martin the center got a little stronger and has progressed this year and with the addition of Jason Peters we are pretty strong on the left side until Tyron gets back not to mention his mentoring of our young left tackle.

Letting Randy Gregory go looks like a genius move at this point as quarterback sacks are the least of our worries.

With all the adversity of losing your starting quarterback everybody played hard and nobody packed it in.

Heck we proved that we got a pretty doggone legitimate backup quarterback and I can't believe anybody expected that including Jerry.

So I got to say of all the years this one is probably much less hype and more pleasant surprises but that's just my viewpoint

False You are one of the few people on the forum that cannot differentiate between fans being concerned and wanting to have a discussion about a problem area of the team and a fan that is just flat out disgusted and wants to quit following the team.

And hey if you want to set yourself up as the governing body of fandom on the forum knock yourself out.
Just don't expect everybody to agree and take you seriously because most are going to take it for what it is a joke.
I know I didn't vote for him.

What hype? 8 wins four with a back up QB. Hope but no hype. reason to be optimistic. However, like to see more consistency, less penalties. Nobody really scares me in the NFC

We don’t all need to be Pom poms and such but negativity is a choice

football comes around once a year and this is the best team the cowboys have had in some time

if they let us down so be it. Championships aren’t exactly an easy thing to achieve in salary cap era ( patriots not withstanding)

The negativity on this site is over the top even when we win it’s bad

I’m not perfect but I’ll choose to be on the side of optimism

This is different.

All of the elements are there, and then some.

We are feared around the league.

Nobody is better.

I'm telling you.

That's one of the amazing parts. When Garrett was here, we were occasionally a team that might be dangerous, but we were not feared. Now, teams are terrified of playing us. The Vikings completely over thought things against us BECAUSE we can beat teams in so many different ways. That led to us embarrassing them with their second biggest home loss in their HISTORY with their worst being in 1963. We just took on a Giants team that found out that the Cowboys are a resilient team and, if we get an inch, the Cowboys will thrash the opponent. Teams no longer get excited about having us on their schedule. They are scared when they see us. I think this culture will continue, and it must continue to grow. It leads to championships down the line.

Yeah well when you have morons in this group demeaning my service and crossing lines even a veteran knows how to get in the dirt too.
I don’t care for your posting style and that’s ok. You’re service to this country though is sacred ground in my mind

unfortunately if you follow the track of the country we both served it’s not uncommon to be less appreciated or even ridiculed

Social media is a huge cesspool. People can say stuff they wouldn’t say face to face or would only say once but it is what it is

I could go off on a god and country speech but I’ll save it

I think there is some trepidation, if not full skepticism, about this team and the post season and who can blame the fans? The owner has been selling there was a pony beneath the horse poop for decades.

However, this defense looks better than ones in the past and the NFC isn't great. Every team looks beatable, including the Cowboys.

This thread would of been a lot more constructive if we'd concentrated on what's making this year different (over recent years/failings).

The attempt at trying to reset the CAP. The Gregory fiasco, losing Tyron, drafting Tyler(who looked as if he may struggle at G let alone LT), not re-signing Coop, having to play Rush.

What we've done, possibly by chance and necessity, more than design is that we've changed our identity. As you say Micah is now the focal point and leader of the team....a player that does it on the field and brings (especially the youngsters) up to his level. On offense we've found that the line is suited to run blocking and that using Zeke AND Tony as 1 and 1a (rather than primarily the Owner's Boy) gives a varied game that's difficult to counter.

This has allowed Dak to play a managerial game, which better suits his talents than trying to force the game....now if Moore can just accept this and not turn to the pass at first sign of trouble then we've golden.

We arent perfect....though i'd argue if Quinn can keep the Defense committed to stopping the run on 1st/2nd down, but this is the closest we've come to being in contention for a long while.
