I can't see it, but I bet there's a guy I put on ignore going crazy in this thread right now.

The somewhat older crowd who enjoyed the 90s wins or even both the 70s and 90s winning have differing levels of patience and expectations as compared to a newer fan imo.
27 years is a long time to wait on success to some.To others who have never tasted it, it may not seem so bad.

I am from the 70s time frame. My personal patience level kinda fizzled out a few years back so that I became a seeing is believing fan with this team.
Until they actually win some playoff games I "try" not to get too high or too low.

They are what they are at this point.
Here's to hoping that this year IS different, lol.

That's one of the amazing parts. When Garrett was here, we were occasionally a team that might be dangerous, but we were not feared. Now, teams are terrified of playing us. The Vikings completely over thought things against us BECAUSE we can beat teams in so many different ways. That led to us embarrassing them with their second biggest home loss in their HISTORY with their worst being in 1963. We just took on a Giants team that found out that the Cowboys are a resilient team and, if we get an inch, the Cowboys will thrash the opponent. Teams no longer get excited about having us on their schedule. They are scared when they see us. I think this culture will continue, and it must continue to grow. It leads to championships down the line.

That's the one. Teams know 3rd down means the hounds of hell are being unleashed, and on offense the variety of run game (and now we're spreading the snaps between the two) means it's difficult to set a specific alignment....which gives Dak a more open secondary.

Well, in the last three games we lost to a team we should have destroyed, barely won against MASH unit and rolled against one solid team. And we still continue to commit mind numbing number of penalties. So, the hype level should be "Team with potential, but not showing consistency"

Exactly. Anyone who says he believes this team will definitely win the SB should come right out and say so, and even be willing to risk being a member here to prove it. Anything short of that isn't much different than the OP, and is all talk.

Great post as always Plasticman.

I'm assuming the 2014 bad defense kept them off the list?

That was the year I really thought we had a chance since the Danny White era.

We are one year and a good draft away.

normally I would agree, but with Rodgers and Brady being potential non-factors in the playoffs, I can see a path to them getting to the SB. The scenario would have to include the Eagles or Niners getting knocked out by a fluke game early, or those two teams going head to head before we face them.

IMO, it’s gonna take mitigating the penalties, good luck, and the right matchups in the playoffs

They haven't won much of anything in 27 years.
Funny how division titles and the best record in the NFC over 2 seasons isn't much of anything in your book. Whatever they win this year, they are good and fun to watch.

Like others I’m not buying it until we show up in the playoffs. What the Cowboys do in the regular season means absolutely nothing if they don’t perform well in the playoffs.
The regular season is a building block to the playoffs. This team has potential to win in the playoffs.

It normally is but hasn’t worked out that way for the Cowboys the past 2+ decades. They’ve had two number one seeded teams go one and done since 07. They had a 12-5 team last season go one and done at home. We’ll see how it plays out this season. Regardless how it goes during the regular season it all comes down to how you’re playing in December. You have to be playing your best football heading into the playoffs.

How many times have Cowboys fans buy into the hype, only to end the season with a disappointing conclusion.

Being a Dallas fan since 1977, seeing the Cowboys, in the playoffs, were a year thing. Winning playoff games and even getting to Superbowls once and a while.

Like seasons past, it has been enjoyable, seeing the Cowboys winning more games than losing. But I am not going to buy into the FOOLS GOLD Jerry sells fans since 1995.
Jerry wins every season b/c Dallas is the richest franchise in all of sports. At very least, Top 5. On the field, can't even get to a NFC Conference game. Until this team can get to one conference finals, not falling for it.
Dak has a losing playoff record, as did Romo did. A fan of both, but neither could produce in the playoffs.
So hopefully, this is that season to get to a NFC Conference. Don't have to win the darn game, just get there. Until then...fools gold

It's crazy how Dak and the play-callers can get completely shut-down at times, there's no punch > counter-punch, just a glass-jaw and lights out. Part of that has been limited opportunities because the defense can't get off the field if forced to play extended amounts of time. It's dysfunction feeding dysfunction, both sides of the ball have to be solid in order for this team to win in the playoffs.

unfortunately, many of those wins came against inferior NFC East teams the years previous to this one.

The Cowboys were not surprisingly exposed against stronger teams and in the playoffs. This isn’t opinion…..it’s fact.

However, this years East is much improved and the regular season wins are truly indicative of the teams strength. Much different than the previous years

I don’t care for your posting style and that’s ok. You’re service to this country though is sacred ground in my mind

unfortunately if you follow the track of the country we both served it’s not uncommon to be less appreciated or even ridiculed

Social media is a huge cesspool. People can say stuff they wouldn’t say face to face or would only say once but it is what it is

I could go off on a god and country speech but I’ll save it

We may disagree on things related to Dallas but you never crossed a line and I appreciate that my brother.

Wow, you probably think Of Mice and Men is about an exterminator. He didn't say he was giving up. He said he was waiting until he sees it to believe it.
No. OP is a loser. Plain and simple.

I’m kidding about the OP. I think I’m going to go his route as well.
