Running QBs are all the rage in today’s NFL but with all of them its only a matter of time till they get hurt. Its bad enough when you are a pocket QB who has to run at times but when runs are part of the game plan and play calls its a long season to ask them to be around at year end when they are needed. Give me a QB with pocket awareness who can move around and occasionally run when necessary any day.

Daniel Jones took way too many hits yesterday. He is a big strong dude, but so are those LBs and Ss teeing off on him.

Back to the point. Yes I agree. I’d rather have someone with great pocket awareness who can run but doesn’t need to.

The only running QB I'm concerned about is Jalen Hurts. But his throwing shoulder is now a weak link in his armor. It would be a shame if that got reinjured.

Someone like Josh Allen or even Daniel Jones

The running qb idea is flawed with the 17 game season. It has been proved over and over that it doesn't work.

With the other injuries, especially Lane Johnson, I think that Eagles aren't winning anything this year.

I like mobile not running QBs. They can run, they can climb the pocket, they can make subtle shifts to make a defender miss, they throw the ball away smartly and they occasionally run with the understanding of the first down marker and slide feet first all the time.

Because of their mobility they stress the defence and force them to defend the entire field. Add in being the smartest player on the field and you have a perennial elite QB.

Problem with running QBs are they are elite when their wheels are still elite. When they slow down, then you get issues if they are not good with the passing game. They drop off the "elite" to "less than pedestrian" pretty fast. e.g. Russel Wilson.
