Name a running QB that won a Super Bowl.
Steve Young but I think the term 'running qb' is misleading. It used to be 'mobile qb' but there are really only a few running qbs. If we say which 'running qb' has won a superbowl I don't think it's happened yet.

Probably good to define terms. A pure running QB routinely has run plays called for them and usually is the team's leading rusher or close to it. There have only been a handful. Justin Fields and Lamar Jackson certainly qualify.

Jalen Hurts is borderline, but you can't really call him a pure running QB.

A mobile QB who occasionally runs via scramble or design is an asset. That list is long and includes most of the current star NFL QB's, including Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes. Aaron Rodgers's younger self was a major asset running the ball occasionally, as is Kyler Murray.

I agree….there was no reason doe Danny Jones to take the hits he took yesterday just to get anTD. Hey Danny, nothing wrong with first and goal at the 1 instead. Stay healthy big boy….we need you playing.
We need you hurt rotfl

...I remember when RG3 was the rage, back then. Got hurt, never fully recovered from it. Eventually retired.

Watched the Commanders - Cowboys game from then Cowboy Stadium when RGIII played.
Cowboys did not bother to shadow him.
Let him run. He did not run out of bounds or slid much.
Injury waiting to happen.

Ill check.. he was drafted by the Giants in 2019 and he did play some that fall. (this is the last yr of his contract)

We played against him the game Dak got his terrible injury. The play you were referring to happened last year.

RG3 is the best example of why a running QB is flawed plan. Shanahan ran him to death and ended his career early.

A pocket passer who can run is a better solution

Running QBs are all the rage in today’s NFL but with all of them its only a matter of time till they get hurt. Its bad enough when you are a pocket QB who has to run at times but when runs are part of the game plan and play calls its a long season to ask them to be around at year end when they are needed. Give me a QB with pocket awareness who can move around and occasionally run when necessary any day.
Running QBs don't get hurt more than pocket QBs. It's a myth.

Can’t recall but didn’t Dougie Williams run a ton when TB won it?

No he was a classic pocket passer He was Black (Like almost all running QB's except Tasom Hill) but he was a pocket passer. He didn't win it TB He won it with Washington and was replaced with Jay Schroeder the next season. I guess the novelty wore off. But that's another discussion for another Board

Common misconception in discussions like these, But, any way, Carry on

Name a pocket QB who was never injured.........

In the NFL anyone can get hurt. The QB is the cornerstone of the offense. It makes sense to put them in as little risk as possible. Building your rushing attack as part of the QB’s plan is always bad, 100% of the time.

Running isn't that big of a deal. They just have to be smart, take what they can get, and then get down.
The most gruesome injuries happen in the pocket, when they're sitting like statues, and don't see a blindside rusher coming....and they get crushed.

Or, sacks in the pocket, when there bodies falling everywhere at your feet, lead to broken legs/ankles.

Gotta be smart regardless of running or in pocket
