People get murdered all the time, is financially bankrupting them and their family part of the sentencing? His money was earned legally

It is a weird situation as far as intent and guilt go, and what can be proven. I personally don't think it is a crime where someone should be bankrupted, and their family has to pay for it by losing legally acquired money.
Unbelievable.
Basically you are saying its all about money.

I don’t particularly like Alec Baldwin, but he’s not guilty of anything but pretending, badly. The prop person is guilty of involuntary manslaughter, because it’s his/her job to make sure the props are safe.

The armorer, assistant director, and the actor all bear some responsibility when handling a gun on a movie set. It's a chain of custody type thing where each is suppose to check and make sure that it is safe. It also sounds like he knew it was being used with live rounds which is a reckless big no no in the industry and Baldwin was a producer on the movie so he was also an authority on what was going on the set.

Why would ANYONE have a deadly, REAL, loaded weapon on a set? Yeah, he was a producer, but it’s common sense. It’s like they decided to play catch with cups of hot McDonald’s coffee, then they were outraged and incredulous when someone gets burned. Should the producer be in trouble because the coffee was hot? Should I have to tell you NOT to juggle knives?

IMO....This entire set showed ZERO respect/responsibility concerning a firearm. They delegated a HUGE responsibility to a person/persons who have no clue with the basics of handling guns. This includes Baldwin. WHY.....aren't any of these people required to attend a gun safety course(s)!?!! How about the idiots, on the set, that were target practicing with live rounds!!! WHO ALLOWED THIS?? With that said.....No Excuses for Baldwin. VERIFY YOUR WEAPON. One more thing.....was it a single action revolver or a double action revolver?? HUGE difference.

Like I said all about the money to you.
You are 100 percent right. I clicked on the latest post in the thread, I read a few, and I made a comment. I have no interest in going and reading about the case or the law that is pertaining to the case.

I dunno about this one. He was the mastermind of the whole operation, I guess, so he's responsible for all that happens on-set. Still there's a person who's entire job is to make sure this doesn't happen.

With today's CGI, I don't know why a gun would ever need to be actually fired. I guess they're going for realism, but who knows.

They shouldn't even be able to have actual weapons on the set.

Who fired the shot? Who had the gun in his hand? Trying to blame everyone else but him is obscene.
It is called personal responsibility but I guess that is illegal now, right?

I guess he should have checked it but I suspect most of Hollywood has no idea how to do that, which is why they hire people who do.

I honestly don't care either way because he'll never serve time. You seem to be a little too worked up over it.

Let it slide seems fine with you
Hollywood big shot kills a person and you say MEH
Give them special treatment when anyone else anywhere else would already be doing time on this

looks to me like you are the one with a problem

I don’t say “meh”. I say it’s not entirely his fault.

Is it a jury trial?
