And there are a bunch of examples of this

LVE
Chaisson (if lamb didn’t fall)
Taco as you mentioned
Everybody knew they wanted a cb when we took parsons
Sam Williams everybody knew
Hill everybody knew
Tyler smith everybody knew

If you go TE at 26, you better have one hell of a free agency haul.

You’re not finding starters at LG, 1T, MLB, CB and S in one draft
I agree 100% I do like a couple of these TE's and with Ferguson and Hendershot gives us three solid TE's BUT
they better acquire the following positions either in free agency or the draft: WR, OG, LB, S and DT. They really
need six new faces which includes the TE. If we can land all of these I feel fine EXCEPT add another RB since
I feel Elliott might be leaving. THis gives us Pollard, Malik Davis and some other RB.

IMHO, Kincaid is the best pass-catching threat and the biggest matchup problem in the draft, so I don't care what label people give him. He can line up anywhere, inside or out, and get downfield.
For Dallas it's got to be Kincaid imo because he a Playmaker as a receiver which fills a huge need on the offense. Dak leans on his TE, go get the best security blanket in the draft.

Belt and Broaddus are both basically reporting that TE is most likely going to be the pick at 26

Of course there can be surprises, but assuming nobody major falls, I think this is what is going to be the final outcome. Not to mention, Dane is also super plugged in when it comes to the cowboys, and he also has them taking a TE at 26 in his latest mock. (Kincaid)

I for one think this is absolutely the right decision. I am totally on board with going TE at 26. I just hope they get the best one available when it’s their pick. There are fine margins separating these guys. Not everybody in here is going to be happy to hear this. But what’s new?

My TE mini board right now probably looks like this

1A Mayer
1B Washington
3 Kincaid
4 Musgrave
Still believe corner is the favorite at 26, but TE could very well be high on their board. It will depend on what flavor ice cream they like, Garrett was all about inline, but MM likes a pass receiving TE. Really like LaPorta too, he is probably more of an option at 58.

I think cb would be the favorite if the talent in the draft lined up at 26. It doesn’t , imo. And I don’t see Dallas liking these midgets either. The talent absolutely lines up perfectly at 26 with Te

Mayer or Washington Round 1
Jack Campbell Round 2
Kendre Miller or Spears Round 3
Brown Penn State Safety Round 4

Hate to say it, but so does the top two running backs.

I like several TEs in this class but not 100% sold going that route at 26.

I have no problem going rb round 1 at26. But I don’t see any way Bijan is there. I love me some Gibbs
I agree on Robinson, but there is a chance Gibbs can make it there. Team did talk to him at the combine.

What determines the talent lining up though? If we're going off experts then sure. But we don't know how dallas sees players. Byron Jones wasn't a first round player to experts either. I'm no expert but from tape I watched, in addition to the combine I think Turner and Brent's are definitely 1st round caliber corners.

I'd rather have the 7th corner in this class than the 2nd TE.
Yea, my problem with TE is positional value and it’s probably not even going to be BPA.

This is a great TE class but no 1st round lock studs for me.

Mayer: not a dynamic athlete
Musgrave: traits pick, injured and lack of production
Washington: traits pick, injured and lack of production
Kincaid: Maybe? Stud pass catcher but need to see something in the 4.5s to get excited about a 6’3 TE

Washington has injury issues?

It's where value and availability meet, at least at this point of "draft season".

I'm still hoping for JSN or one of the top 3 Corners to slip and would even consider Deonte Banks.

You may not like it, but if Bijan somehow slips to 26, you have to think about that seriously.

  • Pollard is on a 1-year deal and knows this team can’t (absolutely should not) Franchise Tag him a second year.
  • If Zeke doesn't take a pay cut, you can make him a June 1 cut and save $10.9M in cap room.
  • The argument of you don't take a RB in the 1st round is too arbitrary. You probably don't take a sure-thing, bell cow RB at #4 overall, but adding a top 5 talent, playmaker at 26 is an extremely rare opportunity.
Picking in the last first means too many variables that are out of your control, especially since Jerry and Stephen are not great at negotiating on draft day (Jerry is impatient, Stephen is stingy). That being said, knowing who the players (Front Office) are, I would not be surprised at all if the team "feels" TE is the pick at this stage in the process.

For those of you who like to bash Broaddus, he's been "on" players going into the first round quite a few times because he knows how the team thinks and talks with them daily. He nailed Zack Martin, Byron Jones, and Taco (not that we should pick, that we would), and he also had K'Lavon Chaisson, who the team later admitted was going to be the pick before CeeDee Lamb fell into the team's lap.

I think a good chunk of you don't like Broaddus because he is critical of the "brain trust" here and was fired for it. Another chunk of you don't like him because he's crusty and can be condescending to fans, which is he is. I find he is right way more than he is wrong.

Well we do know Dallas likes size at cb. That doesn’t help
