Very good chance that the 4 Corners (Gonzalez, Spoon, Porter, Banks) are all gone. Good chance the WR’s are gone as well (Addison, Johnson, JSN, Flowers)
This front office is reactionary. And they think Dak was short handed in that playoff game. If they think Kinkaid is a piece that really makes a difference he probably gets the nod.

Dallas just used a 4th round draft pick last year on Ferguson. Why in the world would they go TE in 2023?

Ferguson at 4 is a value pick. Not a move-the-needle player. No high end receiving skills.

Would you rather have Kincaid or Gibbs?
Man, that’s a tough one for me because I really like Gibbs a lot too. He is just so smooth in everything he does and he’s got speed to burn. Plus, I can’t help but get excited thinking about a play-action, inside zone running game with Pollard and Gibbs teaming up on defenses.

But, Kincaid is going to be exceptional IMO, and I think that it would be easier to find a RB in the later rounds than it would be to find a really good receiving TE.

So, if I had to take one of them, it would probably be Kincaid and I’d look for a good back to pair with Pollard in the 3rd/4th round.

I really like both though, and either one would add big-time juice to the offense.

Would not be a fan of Kincaid at 26, or really any TE in R1.

If we’re dead set on grabbing a TE in this draft, I would be looking at Zack Kuntz if he’s available in the 3rd round.

Folks are losing their minds over Washington but Kuntz is the real freak. Athlete supreme; moves like a guy that’s 6’ instead of a legit 6’-7”; demonstrated production; Penn State transfer.

Yep, forget WR's, so many draft guru's are calling Kincaid the best receiving option in the draft, add this to Dak's preference to using his TE as the check out, then Kincaid is the choice.

So the question is would you take a WR over Kincaid....because the best receiving option at 26 WILL BE Kincaid (if he's still on the board.

Yep, the one interesting positive is that this draft is very strong in two of our need areas (RB and CB) and specialists are saying that there will be good picks even into the middle rounds. TE may (probably will) be the best receiving option at 26, it'll depend on what aspect of the roster we want to improve.

Who’s on the board?

I take Flowers over Kincaid in a heartbeat.

Kincaid does not make this offense more explosive. A 6’-3” 245 lb H-back or glorified big receiver with marginal speed doesn’t move the needle.

Three years from now Kincaid may turn out to be a “nice” player but he isn’t going to be wrecking the league.

We are not taking the 5'9 Flowers.....it's just not what we draft. If we liked that sized WR then why did Turpin play only 5% of the offensive snaps. Kincaid is judged to be the best receiver in the draft....over any WR, not just what's probably available at no.26.

Cowboys met with Flowers, Dell, Tucker and Addison at the combine so that narrative may be changing.

If so, Flowers 10 times out of 10 over Kincaid.

Then why are we wasting time and a finite number of formal interviews on smaller receivers?

I agree.

Add in his poor blocking skills, he'll be a liability/cue on what the team is doing.

Someone like Mike Gesicki is one heck of an athletic TE. Can out jump anyone, make circus catches, so-so speed. However, he never learned how to block as a traditional TE.
Therefore, he fell down the priority list for McDaniel this year in Miami. They used guys like Smythe who is mainly just a blocking TE. And McDaniel came from the 49ers who deployed Kittle to great success.
If Kincaid can't block, will he just be in the slot year 1? At least with Washington or Mayer, they should be ready day 1 to block/catch.

.....as a later round out, not as a first round. The issue is the receiving, if that's best suited at TE (which fits Dak's skillset and preferences), it sounds like a good plan. Interestingly ESPN (as well as Brugler) mocked Kincaid.

There is a 0% chance Flowers makes it to later rounds. He might not make it to us.
