That’s a move that can set the foundation of a great team. They just have to use them correctly

Id imagine they will. My guess is they go WR at 9. I think they'll try to get Quintin Johnston from TCU at 9. That'd give them a top rookie to go with their Moore. Following that, they'll need to go oline.

I don’t think Chicago got enough and I love that receiver. They should have gotten 3 firsts.
I think they did. They have two big needs (not unlike us). WR and oline. They got one. I could see them doubling down with Johnston from TCU now, and then I think they'll go online after that. That'd be a good way to set up, and they can now trade up to the number 1 next year if they need a new QB. They're in great position, especially with a new stadium coming soon.

Yeah. Some of our fans here would have “savored that win” and beat their chest. Sigh. Tanking for draft capital is the smart move. Good for the Bears.
no players "tank", that is an internet bull**** phenomenon. Bears are a bad team and lost but the players tried to win

They did, value-wise
2023
2024
2023 2nd is about the same value as a 2024 1st...and more valuable than a 2025 1st

PLUS a young star WR

and still drafting 9th
The Bears did very well........no way in hell they are getting three 1st, two 2nds, elite WRs, and stay in the top 10.

Interesting.
With Moore, Mooney, and two 2nd round picks, that would surprise me, but surprises can be fun.

 they are still drafting in the top 10 ( two 1st, two 2nds, and All Pro WR )
When you have the first pick with several needy teams I think you should get more. Look what Miami got for pick number 3. Especially bad franchises like Carolina.

I would have waited. The Colts might have given up more. I don’t think DJ Moore is a top 15 receiver.

Just think you could have started a bidding war between teams. The draft is 6 weeks away. Watch what Arizona gets for pick 3.

Now, if the Panthers feel very strongly about 1 QB over all the rest, I understand this move.

I love the trade for Chicago, but if they REALLY feel that THAT guy is in this draft, I get it for the Panthers POV.

Now, I wonder who "that" guy is?

Well that's why imo. I think they go Johnston 1st and Dwani Jones T Ohio State and the C Luke from Ohio State in round 2. It'd give them 3 monster WRs and two solid linemen.

I don’t think this trade happens for Stroud.

People who have Stroud over Young have it because of size concerns or athleticism preference. It’s a question of quid pro quo. People who have Young over Stroud have it because they believe he’s so generational the size concerns don’t matter.

This trade to me indicates Carolina is in the latter group.

Oh, I don't doubt it. But, as someone who considers the Bears as one of my top 5 teams (obviously with the Cowboys being my favourite) that I cheer for with how much I enjoy visiting the Chicago-area, I think that the compensation was very good. Maybe not great, but they have the ability to get themselves settled for the future, and they can get a nice trip at WR, I think it's a good move for them.

I could see that, plus Stroud doesn't strike me as terribly accurate. I watched some of his combine, and his balls were not very consistent imo. I think they're going Young.

Exactly, they have done well, and I'm excited to see how they progress. I also hope we play them sometime soon during the convention time again so I can wear my suit to the game. It'd be fun.

I agree David

Same here. They've done well, and hey, with the Packers declining, this is the time for them to strike.
