Eagles CB Darius Slay seeking a trade

He's absolutely real.
He put together a Super Bowl roster and brought that team out of the ashes of Chip Kelly and Carson Wentz.
He’s not real he can’t draft. He went all in this year. Congrats. He spent money. That doesn’t make you a great Gm.

....and in spite of those miscues there are those 2 Super Bowl appearances since 2017.

Oh, and the same DK Metcalf drafted #64 overall in 2019 which saw Dallas select Trysten Hill #58 overall?
Yeah Cowboys sucked too what’s your point lol?

He can’t draft because he whiffed on Jaelen Reagor, ignoring everyone else he drafted? Can Dallas not draft because they whiffed on Taco Charlton that one time?

Fletcher Cox, Lane Johnson, Brandon Graham, DeVonta Smith, Zach Ertz, Dallas Goedert, Mychal Kendricks, Nick Foles, Benny Logan, Josh Sweat, Jason Kelce, Jalen Hurts.....yeah, he can't draft.

You’re listing people be drafted 10 years ago….thanks for proving my point.

Maranelli wanted Taco.

Carson Wentz? Bust.
Derek Barnett? Bust
Sidney Jones? Bust
Eric Rowe? Bust
Nelson Agoholor? Bust.
Andre Dillard?

He sucks at drafting in the first and second round for sure.

Kelvin Joseph? Bust
Gavin Escobar? Bust
Jaylon Smith and Randy Gregory? Your “bust” Derek Barnett will have a better career in Philly than they did in Dallas

If those rates aren’t good enough, then by your standard there are 32 bad drafting font offices in the NFL. Everyone has hits and misses in the first 2 Rounds. This isn’t unique to Philly or Dallas.

You listed all of our busts on the second round. Try doing it with our 1sts lol……nice try. If your argument is that Howie is better than Jerry….the fact you are even comparing the two says it all lol….say what you want about Jerry but he’s been far better in the first round.

You only get 1 first round pick a year, you can’t build a sustainable team only living off first round picks. Why would that ever be proof of someone’s drafting ability while ignoring all other rounds they’re also required to do their job?

And My argument was never that Howie was a better drafted than Jerry. But Your argument was Howie is incapable of drafting, regardless of how many MVP candidates or perennial pro bowlers he drafted. You said he can’t draft at all, and the reigning executive of the year is not a “real GM.” So if he is unable to draft, then Jerry is too and so is every other front office who’s ever whiffed, which is all of them

I said he doesn’t draft well in the first and second round which is true.

The research from your scouting department led by McClay has more to do with best players to pick in the draft if available at time of selection. If you think Jerry runs around the country researching candidates or solely interviews players that come to Arlington and puts the draft board together you are on peyote. Jerry has plenty of company in the draft room. Generally present are Stephen, McCarthy, McClay and coordinators. Often you see them clearly discussing players who they hope to pick (including alternate selections) in each round. Jerry calling the players to congratulate picks is a figurehead GM indulgence and to pump up the drafted player. Of course from a signing standpoint Jerry and Stephen make that contractually happen.

Again, why are you stopping at round 2 when it’s Jerry’s job to draft in all rounds? Because it hurts your argument if you acknowledge further?

And Howie doesn’t draft well Relative to what? If you compare all 32 teams to not only their hit rate but also the worth of each player they’ve drafted in those rounds, he’s going to end up well in the top half of the league. Can’t just say Connor Williams was a hit for Dallas because you didn’t cut him before you refused to re-sign when his rookie deal ended. If you did that draft over again, you’d never have taken him. What he does in Miami is irrelevant to what Dallas got for their draft pick. Meanwhile Landon Dickerson started for the NFC in the pro bowl in only his second season. Those two second round guards are not the same worth.

6th since 2012. And this is from last summer, so doesn’t count huge improvements from Hurts, Miles Sanders, DeVonta Smith, Dickerson, Epps, Sweat which would move him even closer to Jerry on the list.

Bet you didn’t see that coming.
