He literally said he couldn’t remember talking th anyone in the lobby or what he would have said because he was drinking. What’s that mean?
So you would have instant recall of what you said in a one minute conversation with someone you did not know?

He was basically dumbfounded of what he possibly could have said to get kicked out of his hotel room and have his employers drop him from the air.

literally to you of course

He said he and some friends had been out drinking; does not mean he was drunk.

Now as regards not remembering, well, have you always remembered everything ever said to you?
Thank you... some people dont really know what it means to QUOTE someone, and obviously do not understand what "Literally," means.

You are making excuses. He went on a radio show and said he didn’t talk to ANYONE to start and went to room. Eventually he said he didn’t know what he said with her and as an excuse said he had been drinking. You don’t back up “not remembering” without drinking if you weren’t buzzed. Btw I said in the other shut down thread that I still am not taking a side. Im only shutting down excuses. It’s the same celebrity player fan boys. Reid has Irvin posters all over his room

Hey tool! Im an attorney. I litigated for years. I’ve seen everything. I never said it didn’t mean anything. I only said there are always negotiations and things on the side that explain things. There were even reports of it. Step away. I swear the level of lowest common denominator posting is unreal.
You also said, "Also for all of you complaining about the video,,,the news just stated they hotel had been working with the judge to keep the privacy of the party and others in the video private. Wow! Who said that earlier today? Also said Irvin was invited to watch the video but decilined as his attorney watched"

Great legal work, Mr Attorney.

Unfortunately nobody told the judge this news. And you got the nerve to call someone a tool. Go sit down somewhere!

this isnt emotional for me at all. I have a legal background, and honestly, I find the legal maneuvering interesting. I hoe Mike ends up ok, but it isnt going to impact my life in any way. I find the legal stuff VERY interesting and I try to speak on those things. so what is the worst case scenario for Mike in your opinion. He can not be charged with sexual harassment. He has no position of authority over the female. They are not co-workers, I think we can all agree this wa snot some long drawn out thing where he was harassing her for hours, days or weeks. Lets say Mike touched her, asked her up to his room, even said damn baby, you are S-E-X-Y. Want to come up and get busy? And she said uhm....... no, Im not interested at all. And he said well damn, ok... ill come look for you another time and walked up to his room..... what would you call that? A crime? Something worth a civil suit? Something that should get hi taken off air?
Worst case scenario for Mike is he doesn't work for a major outlet in the field again.

What you and the other pro-Irvins are conveniently not addressing is that Marriott says they did their own investigation and then called the NFL who had their investigator come in interview the woman, view the tape(s), and then decided to take Mike off the air after that. Are any of you proposing that Marriott AND the NFL are in cahoots to shaft Mike on this one? If Marriott is lying about that account and subsequent investigation by the NFL, wouldn't the NFL come out and nix all of that talk as inaccurate? The NFL could be on the hook for a lawsuit too if that's inaccurate, couldn't they?

If Mike said what you say he said, the hotel would have every right to refuse service and move him if a staff member felt uncomfortable. What happens with his job after that goes into what the NFLN's policy is regarding "conduct detrimental." If Irvin signed a conduct clause in his contract, he has to deal with the consequences of what they say is detrimental. You sign it, you abide by it. It would suck for him but if you signed up according the rules you can't complain about them later, just like the teams in the NFL have to with the rulebook.

Irvin doesn’t remember the exact details of what the two talked about, and he doesn’t know the woman’s name.
“I don’t really recall that conversation, to tell you the truth,” Irvin said. “We were out drinking. It was just a friendly conversation. ‘What’s up?’ I don’t even know. … I am totally perplexed.”

He admits he had been drinking and could not remember the convresation from the night before.

But he was sober. Got it.
A lot of people can't remember a short less than a minute conversation so you don't got it.

Show me the video/audio from his interview with the fan where he said that. That is NOT what he said. Ill leave it to you to show me.
BUT, he said again that he talks to people everyday, fans in hotel lobbys because he pretty much lives in hotels most of the year. He cant remember every 90 second conversation..... and he laughed it off by saying he had a few drinks..... so what if that what he said. I will wait for the lawyers to ask those witnesses that went outside and took picture with him to tll a jury if they felt Mike was drink. Was he having trouble speaking? Was he having trouble walking? It wasnt even that late, he was drinking water in the lobby and he turned down a drink from those guys wanting to buy him one. Totally sounds like a drunk to me.
You don’t have to wait long

https://nypost.com/2023/02/08/michael-irvin-revealed-super-bowl-incident-in-bizarre-interview/amp/

“There is a lot going on. I don’t know if you guys heard or not… Sunday night … This is tripping me out… I don’t remember it, but I guess when I came in, they asked [what I did] and I said, ‘I just went straight to the room,’” the Hall of Fame wide receiver said. “But I guess I had met somebody in the lobby. Talked to somebody in the lobby for about a minute and then I went to my room. And then after I got up there and got to work, they said tomorrow they had to move me in the hotel. I said, ‘Move me in the hotel for what?’

“So they moved my hotel, and I said, ‘What’s going on, guys? What’s happening? Why are are we moving hotels?’ They said, ‘Well, last night you walked in, you talked to somebody.’ I said, ‘I didn’t talk to anybody. I went straight to the room.’ And then they showed it on camera that I did talk to somebody. I talked to this girl for about a minute. I don’t know what — they didn’t show it to me. They told it to me. I didn’t see it… But that’s why they moved me, because I guess the girl said I said something to her within that minute that we talked, and so they moved me.”

The hosts then acknowledged that there was no media coverage of the incident at the time of the interview.

“That’s exactly what’s happening and why I’m kind of hiding to wait and see how everything comes down, you know, in this world here,” Irvin said. “It was a minute meeting somewhere in the lobby. I don’t even remember it really because I had a few drinks, to tell you the truth… but that’s what they said.”

I literally reported news at the time. And by the way it’s normal to negotiate. You literally kept reporting Irvin was right because Marriott wouldn’t turn the tapes over…despite his attorney seeing them, You just can’t stand that maybe an old fave from your current bedroom walls might be guilty. You also ignore that I mentioned 4-5 times I don’t have an opinion on guilt and was waiting. But goes to the face of rabid Irvin fans. Reading is Fundamental is a good thing. Seriously it’s embarrassing. You ruin the board. Armchair judge making up stuff from the basement

wrong I just dont put my spin on misquotes posted in here. if I say someone said x.... then that means they said X. Ive read multiple posters saying Irvin said he couldnt remember because he was drunk. he never once said he was drunk. In legal proceedings, just like in contracts, EXACT words matter. Not your interpretation of said words.

You are horrible. I said the judge ordered the video to be turned over by a certain time. You made up excuses and said it wasn't a big deal and now you are spinning.

What was your source for this news you alleged happened? Maybe it was Tucker Carlson.

Your source was wrong and so was your legal reasoning. No more excuses.

He never said he was drunk... EVER. So why say that is what he said?
So many of you keep relying on that comment. He was talking to a reporter. Where exactly did you get that quote? I listened to him on that radio interview.... are you getting it from that? Because I will go listen, and I suspect your quotes are not correct. Quotes mean that is EXACTLY what was said.
For most people, "he was drinking and had no memory of the conversation from the night before" implies he was drunk.

However, to you he was sober. Got it!

No they wouldn't. Especially a person like Michael Irvin at SUPER BOWL WEEK where he's talking to a lot of people. He's definitely not going to remember everything from a short conversation.
Well it's a good think he had been drinking then :D

I said that doesn't matter. Even if he hadn't been drinking he's not going to remember a short conversation like that when he's probably had short conversations all day and especially to someone not that relevant to him.

If a hotel employee went to her coworkers as well as management and filed a complaint that a hotel guest was making vulgar sexual advances towards her, then there should be reports that were made at that time by both the hotel management as well as HR.

If the decision was made to remove the guest from the hotel property, again there should be written reports documenting all of this. Marriott will need to turn those documents over to the court along with all videos, if there are indeed multiple videos, that captured any of the interactions between Irvin and the victim.

If none of this was documented at time of the event, then I would have to severly question the validity of Marriott's claims.

The reports were turned over to Irvin's lawyers on Monday. It is the video they tried to get cute with.
