Presuming Robinson is off the board…
Yeah I know we have Pollard…but there’s the injury and the one year contract…and mainly how do you pass on Gibbs? And although I like Charbonet a lot, clear drop off after BJ and Gibbs.
IMO he’s one of the best playmakers in this draft. Thought?

Personally, I don't see the modern need for a punishing runner. The game is about breaking and making plays and you do that with speed. I see no issues with having Pollard and Gibbs. I think Gibbs' speed really pops off the film. When he turns it on, he is just gone.

Not sure its a great idea at 26 but if Dallas could trade down to pick up a 2nd and a 3rd for their 1st and then take Gibbs with the gained 2nd while using the other 2nd and two 3rd's to cover DT, OL and WR/TE/LB, I would be pretty happy with that draft.

Where Gibbs sets himself apart is as a receiver. He projects pretty cleanly to a Kamara or McCaffrey type player in the NFL. You can very effectively use him out of the slot or wide, something we have never been able to do well with Pollard or Elliott. You draft him for that, not necessarily to carry the ball 300 times a year.

Big question with Gibbs at 26, if will they utilize in the same enough (70 catches a year) and correctly ( lining up at WR positions, not just at out of the backfield) to justify an frp

I am a big fan of Gibbs, and yeah, I think he’d be fine with Pollard.

If the team wants to take Gibbs with their first pick, I’m not going to freak out. The guy is a weapon. He could play out of the slot just fine too, if they want to use him some that way.

I like the guys they've met with Gray, Gibbs, and Tank. Gibbs would definitely be a mismatch player that defenses would have to account for. Tank and Gray would be better inside runners.

Really feel they are want to try to replace Zeke and what he brought to the offense. More of a bell cow, power back.

I disagree. They know how the NFL is going now. The Cowboys want to sure up weaknesses along the offensive lines including tight ends when it comes to run blocking. They want to use the committee process like most NFL teams do when it comes to running the ball. The Cowboys want to make their team as injury proof as possible.

That’s your opinion, I don’t think they are spending a high pick on a blocking te

I am talking about the Cowboys overall philosophy. Washington is more then a blocking tight end. He has all pro potential. The Cowboys are not drafting a running back unless it’s Robinson in the first round. The Cowboys brought in a new offensive coaching staff. The days of the bell cow back are over.

Washington is an intriguing prospect but the only way he becomes an All Pro player is by developing in to a great pass catcher. And that is something he hasn’t remotely showed.

I heard the same thing about Jefferson, Micah and TJ Watts. It’s not his fault he was used a certain way in college. The skills are there. The Cowboys need to develop him.
