3 mistakes you are making in this comment

1) marino actually took his team to a super bowl early on in his career in 1984 and if it was not for Montana one of the GOATs , he may have won.
2) Dak is not close to Dan Marino , I you think they are comparable , get your eyes checked.
3) Marino never had the weapons Dak has been afforded. Miami languished for years under an older Shula and a terrible front office.
One thing you are missing
QB’s don’t win SB
Teams do
Until Elway got a running game he didn’t win a SB
Manning was trashed by fans all over the nfl until he won one, and he won it by having a good team, not having just a good QB

cowboys had enough talent over the years with Dak to get beyond the one and done or missing playoffs . Dak had elite top OL and RB around him and he could not get it done . Last year we saw the regression continue.
You seem to be lumping Dak with some hall of fame QBs (. Elway , Manning etc). He is not in this league my freind, Elway took the broncos to 3 super bowls with a terrible defense by the way . But he did it. What has dak done other than interceptions and being a liablity in big games ?

Great question ? We really don’t know . We saw what Rush did last year in a brief stint but we dont know if that holds up. Especially as our defense begin to slide.

What we do know is we are a playoff contender with Prescott. And that really is probably enough for our ownership to stay with him.

Is Daks poor performance in divisional games all that’s holding us back? That’s arguable .

No doubt if he performed like he did in Tampa playoff game the results could have been different . We certainly wouldn’t be bashing him as much.

And we must also acknowledge that good QB’s have bad games . There are poor matchups for us as well. Top defenses are a problem for us. And strong running games we struggle stopping .

I’m not sure our defense towards the end of season and in playoffs would have been enough to advance further with Rush or a lesser QB as such. Would we have still been a playoff team. Maybe . Would we have won 12 games and been hyped as such . And beat Tampa. IDK.

It’s difficult to say if we continue rolling against the teams we should win without Prescott if our defense isn’t performing at the first half of season mode. The first Egirls game provided a sample I think . And even some of the wins prior were much closer that should have been without a more explosive offense.

Which I think is the major difference. The potential of an explosive offense which Dak presents as we saw in Tampa.
We aren't going to face many 8-9 teams in the playoffs.

Can;t for the life of me figure why people love to brag about that one. Low bar...I guess.

Because it’s tom Brady someone they never beat and 2 years removed from being Super Bowl champ not sure why people want to minimize it

A team that also beat them earlier that year so yes it’s an accomplishment

He tries as hard as he can without actually saying it, but he clearly thinks plenty of Cowboy fans are as clueless as ever. My favorite line of the article right here. Almost word for word what some of us joke around about:

I get it. A quarterback is absolute trash unless he wins a Super Bowl. The success of a team is only determined by his play. All you have to do is go out and draft the next Patrick Mahomes.
Thanks for sharing the article. I agree with the opinions expressed in the article.

These trolls that hate on Prescott will hate on the opinion just the same. The internet has ruined society. It gives trolls, haters, morons, and bots the same voice as experts, doctors, scientists, and scholars.

Fans forget, or choose to forget, or selectively forget. That the defense was playing at a very high level with Rush at QB.
Then they lost Brown and Lewis, and the defense went down some from there. They trade for Hankins, change up the schemes some to stop the run, so the pass rush suffered some.
It was not the same as Dak returned.

I am not making excuses for Dak, as he shared in his part of the teams not so good performances. But the defense regardless faded in the last half of the season.
I didn't forget, as soon as Lewis was gone, we felt it and then when Brown went down we never were the same defense.

I'm all for finding the next QB, I'm all for upgrading now if you can....the darker side of me is even all for moving on from Dak now just so i can watch the same posters yell about the new QB and then laugh my arss off because they keep calling the new QB Dak out of habit..lol, we lose 50 to 48 "My god if Dak wouldnt have thrown that first half INT we would've won" the new QB is not Dak "You know what I mean...."

It is franchise malfeasance if we don't draft a QB every single year regardless of what round it is. Of course, we're no stranger to malfeasance.

we saw what rush did? yeah we did. he led the 22nd ranked offense, and you already answered yourself, defense was the reason we won the rush led games. Rush wouldn't hold up.

and I want improved QB play as much as everyone, but nobody is able to provide an alternative that's better, except some say we need to go draft the next mahomes. look at KC, they did it.

or team, two years in a row seem to have deteriorated as the season wore on. specially the defense. not sure the reason behind it. first half of season Parson was a super hero, as he wore down, the defense wasn't as effective.

It has stopped us. The contracts of DLaw, Tyron, Cooper, Dak, and Zeke took up huge chunks of the salary cap, which made us weak at other positions which caused us to lose in the playoffs. A player who is paid at the top must absolutely play up to it.

We have been very poor in FA due to Jerry. Jerry has tried the high dollar FAs, and failed miserably due to an extreme incompetence in evaluating players. Brandon Carr is the prime example of this, most obvioiusly being a #2 type CB that Jerry paid like a #1. That is the bigger problem most definitely. So, why don't we sign effective FAs? Because we have a non-football guy up top.
so it hasn't stopped us from signing players to big contracts. we just signed the wrong ones.....that's my point, the big salaries aren't show stopper. the 20M last year could have been used, but wasn't. money can be made available by redoing contracts. everyone does it. kick the can down the road, until you are ready to rebuild.

and fan expectations are a player that gets paid top money should play. but in NFL, sometimes you over pay because the alternative is way worse, eventhough it may save some money. right now, the market is what the market is. Wentz is making 30M a year. he will be on his 4th team.

and you and I agree on the Jerry being bad in FA, but I think its rare for an elite FA to make the market. I have said it multiple times, its either older, often injured or past their prime and JAGs that make the FA. if a worth it FA made the market, teams would be clamouring and price goes up.

teams are learning to do trades, but its a big gamble. Rams gambled, it paid off. but that's rare.

and why can't we really sign FAs? because as you said we have a sales/marketing guy at the top as well as really not much is out there and Jerry is not capable of thinking and figuring our how the FAs fit in the team, as jerry is pretty clueless when it comes to team building.

yes and a no. his rookie year, just getting to playoff was great. subsequent years as a team we may have had offensive weapons, but defense lacked. of offense lacked weapons and defense was good.
Dak is not elite. will never be. so we need a stronger team around him. its not unprecedented. plenty of others have done it. you just can't be gauranteed an Elite QB. there is so few and teams will pay two arms, two legs and the owners first born to keep one.

btw, just because you read those names, doesn't mean he was lumping them with those HOFers....but I know how dak detractors react. I didn't read it that way.

and I wish we had a manning or elway. but where do we find one? people say lets go draft a mahomes, but how is that done? 19 out of 20 first round QBs are not elite. ..

and I have never heard you provide an alternative. just complaints.

Agreed. Social media is ruining the world.
:hammer::hammer::hammer::hammer:

the moment we went from pull technology (I make the effort to go see something) to push technology, where they just send you notifications of what you are interested in, it all changed. the social media companies, own people now....they are trained dogs like pavlov's dog. they hear a ding, and they jump;

There in desperate mode esp after the last loss to the Niners.
And their Dak world is going to get much worse you going to see most of them jumping off the bandwagon as we have witnessed numerous times in the past.

Yes, signing the wrong players to big contracts is the problem. And it has stopped us. The big salaries are the show stoppers when Noah Brown is your #2.

Not sure who was available for that 20 mil. However, that is an aberration. Most years we have to redo contracts just to get under the cap.
