Year 2 give him some time.
He was from a small, school which probably does not have the better coaches compare to the top schools.
The NFL can be very overwhelming the 1st year as well now facing much better talent.

Let's see how / if he progresses this year. I would for him to succeed. For several reasons. He is a Dallas Cowboy would be a good success story from a smaller school....remember Jerry Rice.....

Very disappointing rookie season.
Tolbert has a chance to make 2023 much, much better.
He started it already by getting together with Prescott for throwing-catching sessions last month.
Next opportunity for improvement - the upcoming OTAs.

That is the problem with the draft you just never know with small school guys. He will get opportunities this season with the addition of Cooks just has to be more prepared. Stepping out of bounds with an easy touchdown catch in the preseason and lining up offsides in Green Bay are not good looks.

I mean we got down to where Noah Brown was getting reps for us last season. You need 5 guys and Cooks is not a long time solution. Hell at this point I don't even know if Gallup is. I see one receiver who should be long term and that's Lamb.

Yes, but not necessarily. If a 1st rounder and Tolbert can swap in for Cooks and Gallup next summer, I’m all for it. He is only in year 2 and first full off season.

Dallas offense needs an X WR. Cooks and Lamb are move guys. Prototypes for the position Dallas needs usually come in bigger than Gallup..think Dez. However, Gallup has to be that guy for now unless they draft say Quinton Johnston.

Tolbert n Fehoko should be getting reps behind MG's spot, but Tolbert may be asked again to backup multiple positions. I think Tolbert will have an opportunity, but his time is now. If Dennis Houston or Dontario Drummond pass up JT this time it's over for him in Dallas.

They need to replace Dalton Schultz. Our young TEs have potential, but the jury is still out. It’s a strong TE draft. This is a strong TE draft. We need a chain mover and Dak needs a security blanket he can depend on who can find seams in traffic.

That too but I wouldn't count on him too much in his rookie season unless he's exceptional. They also need to find Zeke's replacement and McGovern's replacement unless they're planning to go into the season with the FAs they signed.

You're absolutely correct, however for this Dallas offense imo they need a bigger WR to balance out the group.

hes got the physical, not the mental part of the nfl game, YET

dude looks the part in shorts, can catch in practice with the pressure off but running that read option route offense confused his. Much like many Heisman winning qbs in college who were busts in the nfl lie Johnny football who could understand a route tree on paper within and offense and read define But he could huck ball with the best of them. that doesn't work in the nfl, that sandlot , backyard, or college ball that allows a qb to just go hit the open guy .
