A smaller factor in going WR at 26 is you’re essentially throwing this guy away.

Repeat….not a big factor, but a factor they will probably consider.
I also don't think you can afford to rely on him and not take a chance if there's a good WR that drops on day 1 or 2. The Cowboys are ok in the short term at starting positions, but after Gallup there is a lot of unknowns. Gallup to an extent is a question mark on if he can return to what we saw a couple years ago.

Considering Turpin a receiver is equivalent to CJ Goodwin being a corner. He should not count.
I'm not sure that's true. Let's remember that last season he worked his tail off in camp to make the roster after playing a full XFL season. He would have been cooked by the time the season came around and certainly by the end of the season. Let's see what he can do this training camp when he's fresh

Year 2 give him some time.
He was from a small, school which probably does not have the better coaches compare to the top schools.
The NFL can be very overwhelming the 1st year as well now facing much better talent.

Let's see how / if he progresses this year. I would for him to succeed. For several reasons. He is a Dallas Cowboy would be a good success story from a smaller school....remember Jerry Rice.....
I read he struggled learning route concepts and he missed a lot of valuable time
He has talent but is raw when it comes to the mental part of the game. He needs time and I expect to see a lot more this year
But he’s a guy fans need to be patient with

Tolbert will be getting fast tracked this camp, guaranteed.

-From NFL.com:

Silky smooth athlete who has morphed into a monster over the last two seasons. Tolbert is a high-character prospect with skill elements that are dripping with NFL potential. He gave work to everyone he faced, including SEC cover corners at Tennessee. His three-sport background offers unique perspective to pull from at his position, and his route-running gives him a leg up in camp battles early on. His traits, talent and production should push him up the board, and dialing up the competitive spirit could turn him into a top-flight WR2.

Where's THAT guy? lol. Sounds like a stud

whomever he can beat out in camp..its what camp is for..
Tolbert needs to amp up his teams game.
Just saying, and if he elevates his role then we could haves some nice WR3 comp but that his all on Tolbert and this coaching staff.
He doesn't even have a ST role, so he better figure it out quickly.

Draft profiles are usually pretty meaningless. They can make a turd sound like a stud, and a stud sound like a turd
Sure. I just like to back and peek at what was being said about certain guys from time to time. Found it interesting

Jerry Rice rookie season___1985:
1ST ROUND PICK \16TH OVERALL in the 1985 draft.
Picked on a team that were the NFL Champions for the previous season = 1984.
Played in 16 games, started 4.
49 catches for 927 yards = 18.9 yds per rec, 3 TD; Rec YD/game =57.9
6 rushes for 26 yds and 1 TD.
Comparing Tolbert's start in the NFL to Rice's = really bad ---nonsensical.
Thank you for your sanity!

They aren't cutting last years 3rd round pick.

They didn't spend the 88th pick one year just to turn around and cut the guy the next.
Totally agree...except if what they've seen so far has really disappointed everybody.

Right now I have no clue what his potential is. Just dead time conversation.
