Firing someone from a job based purely on allegations alone is, well, I can't post the words I want to say because children might view this forum.

It's wrong. It's every bit as wrong as suspending Zeke Elliott for 6 games based on nothing more than someone claiming he domestically abused her. That's all anyone has to do in this country: just merely assert that something happened - not even under oath for Pete's sake - and that can cause someone to lose their job.

I'm not a fan of Irvin's personality, never have been. It wouldn't surprise me at all if he has historically been inappropriate to women many times. And if there was concrete proof of it, then that becomes something altogether different.
Unfortunately when you’re a celebrity or publicly represent a company or brand it falls under more scrutinized territory. That’s the price of living in the spotlight.

The way you've worded that sounds more like "court of public opinion", which is different, but relevant.

The NFL fired him from his job, and it was way too soon after the alleged event for them to claim to be reacting to lower ratings or something like that. I can see Irvin suing for wrongful termination.

Thing is: if the NFL had any stones on the core of this matter, they would have hired observers to tail Irvin, and I'm pretty confident they would have found all the evidence they needed to legitimately fire him a long time ago.

Yep, it is court of public opinion when you’re in the public eye. That’s the bubble celebrity personalities live in.

ESPN releasing Irvin in 2017 is a good model to follow. Irvin wasn’t found guilty but did settle out of court. That’s when he came to NFLN.

And the league or network really aren’t that concerned until it’s exposed. They are only protecting their shield or brand. Beyond that they couldn’t care . But once an allegation is made they move into action like they care.

Innocent until proven guilty is alive and well in a court of law, not so much when accused of inappropriate behavior and you employer decides to put you on the shelf or terminate you.

As mentioned earlier I’m sure there is a behavioral clause in his contract and that doesn’t require his employer to assume that he is innocent until proven guilty.

His lawsuit should be against his employer if he feels he has be wronged but there is no monetary damages to date if he is still being paid. I’m sure it’s much cheaper for the network to pay him then wind up in court over this matter.

And you wouldn’t if all was said was in appropriate behavior or pickup lines .

She did move back once touched . Plus remember this was an employee so she had to be more cordial and professional.
Ha. She did move back once? Yet, approached Irvin and laughed and smiled once again. Sure didn't seem distraught or insulted in any way.

That’s part of being a cordial professional employee. If she’s attractive probably not the first time she’s been hit on by a patron.

So, it’s your position that she totally fabricated her complaint?

It's the type of job he had that's the problem. Any little thing can get you tossed. You think if he was 25 and playing for the Cowboys he'd lose his job over this? A normal person can be fired for doing something on the job. Off the job no one cares. But Irvin's job requires him to be squeaky clean 24/7.

Bad things can happen when you mix alcohol with too much talking.
If Irvin was 26 and playing, he would have had absolutely nothing happen as a result of this.... not even a 1 practice suspension.

yea,,,.... when she walked away from him, he supposedly said to another man that walked uop.... Id like to hit that. and???? and>????? is this a story? Those words have been said between men for centuries. Hell, how many times have you been in a ar and the "Waitress," walks up to take your order in a skirt and a top where her upper half is hanging out all over. She walks away and you look to your friend and say soething lie... holy cow, she is smoking??? This is called life. And as I have said since day 1, even if Irvin did say exactly what we have read...... uhm, and? so what. They dont work together. This isnt sexual harassment... trying to pick up on a person is nothing.

She contributed to whatever she's accusing Irvin of, because if she truly felt so offended or verbally assaulted, she would have pushed herself from him and ran so far away.

Maybe nothing to someone who accepts womanizing. And it might be a normal pickup line for the Playmaker. These jocks and celebrities are used to hitting on anyone they choose. Some may even like it.

In todays society it’s not acceptable behavior while not illegal. And when a complaint is made against a celebrity especially with his history it then becomes sexual harassment, or the very least inappropriate behavior.

If you don’t see that then nothing anyone says will change your viewpoint.

If you’re on duty you really can’t run away. I’m sure dealing with intoxicated and belligerent aggressive patrons comes with the job. And she’s learned to conduct herself in a cordial professional manner.

It's not the first time she had conversed with Irvin at that same hotel. If she felt he's a bad person, she didn't need to converse with him. Plus, her body language in the video says the opposite of what she's accusing Irvin.

Let me just inject, just because you are in customer service you don’t have to take bill crap from anyone just because that is your line of business. Have been in the financial world for over 30 years and have thrown people out of my office and about come to blows with people. You are not going to disrespect me in any darn way and I am going to take it because I am in customer service don’t care how much money you have or whom you are. So if someone is saying something you can just walk away and just stand there and take it. Plenty of times guys come up to the teller line disrespecting them and I go up there and be plenty of firm with them and tell them to get out.

I’m not sure as an employee she has a choice but to converse with him in that situation?

And pushing him away after being touched would indicate she didn’t approve.

Let me ask you this. Are you ok with what he allegedly said?

I believe that video shows Irvin touching her arm while having a conversation. The conversation to me is the biggest mystery. Id like to hear what she is accusing him of saying. It could be something innocent or it could be on the lines of he asked her to get together and that she could shift his gears anytime.

It’s too graphic for the forum. I sent you a PM with link.

When she was waving her arms in a "no, no" fashion, what does that body language say? She did that twice and both times were after Irvin touched her and she moved back (which was 5 or 6 times, not once).

You're a man, she's not. It's different. Plus, she had undercover security floating around like sharks so she knew if anything broke out she'd be covered. So anyone in that position just had to be cordial and if things linger, it appears security is taught to move in like they did to provide a chance to end things. That's exactly what happened. With Irvin scheduled to be there at least another 6 days the hotel didn't want the chance of that happening again. So as a business you have the right to refuse service for almost any non-banned reason as you know from your story above, so they did. They're not at fault from where I sit.
