Eagles major problem for years

Besides Kelce probably retiring next year, they are set on the o-line. Mailata (26) and Dickerson (24) will man the left side for another seven years. Cam Jurgens (23) slides to center when Kelce leaves. Johnson (32) still wants to play another three years and shows no sign of slowing down. They will have to get a new RG next year. They have the best o-line coach in the game, a guy who turned down more money to stay in Philly. They have a crap load of comp picks next year to spend on o-line. This aging o-line mantra I keep seeing on the boards is simply wrong.
It's hard to say the "aging OL mantra" is wrong when their two best are 33 and 36 next season, and they lost one to UFA. You don't just get 1-for-1 replacements for all of these guys without seeing any dropoff.

That said, their bigger concern should be health. They didn't have any significant long-term injuries on either side of the ball last year. That's almost certainly not going to happen again, and they don't have any proven depth at OL.

Kelce and Johnson are their 2 best offensive linemen and they did lose a starting OG this year. I am not convinced Jurgens is the second coming of Jason Kelce. He show up at the combine but he has a high bar to get over when he takes over for Kelce. Johnson has some wear and tear on him. At 33 he is actually a few months older than Tyron Smith.
He’s also 8 years younger than Jason Peters

What kind of silly thread is this?

The only problem the Eagles are going to have is deciding who to start on their ridiculously talented DL.

He's definitely not a full time edge guy, but is more of a hybrid lb/s type player. He fell because of injuries and teams not sure where his actual position is. NFL network making a big deal about this pick. No doubt they got an athletic defender, but they have to figure out where he plays and if his body can hold up.
He and tiny Dean is a combo that won't work.
Looking forward to drafting a big nasty for G today and a physical RB so we can wear them out.

When you get 2 defensive players like they just did, hard to argue
Yea, Egirls could be dominating for a few years defensively. They’ll need that defense to beat the Elite QB’s from AFC in Super Bowl.

They only "dominated" teams without QBs last year. Got torched every time they faced a good qb.

They lost 7 starters off that defense.
We shall see how it shakes out . All I can do is provide my take. But we appear to be looking up not down to them.

I don't think so.

We whooped them last year when they came with Champagne bottles. We are MUCH better than we were last year already. Still adding talent.

If Hurts doesn’t go down the division race would have been over early.

If you want to believe we are a better team that’s up to you. But they have a better QB and defense.

LOL.. Hurts had a better season. I will take our QB and Defense over them any day.

The probability of Carter being a nut job draft bust is not zero.

All you can do is play the games on your schedule.

Not sure why it’s difficult for fans to admit their rival team might be better?
Why is it so hard to admit the Eagles are a worse team coming into this year? Hargraves to Carter is a downgrade no matter how you slice it.

I wouldn't say that. If we can stop their run game, which is a huge if, then I don't believe they have the better QB.

But I have to give them credit where it is due. They got arguably the best defender in the draft at pick 9. Then no matter what you think about Nolan Smith, they got him at pick 30. Great haul. That said, I'm not worried about them. My main concern is stopping their run game. That's a proven success. What these flashy new DTs will do remains to be seen.

That’s not my argument which is Egirls were a better team last year . And I see no reason to believe they still aren’t. But we shall see.

That’s fair.

But there’s nothing wrong with admitting our opponent had a better team . And still look to have a better QB and defense. It will just make it more gratifying if we beat them.
