Jerry said Dallas is planning to bring in a lot of free agents. Probably have some wr and rb in mind. Is Dallas planning to draft the TCU quarterback?

not even close. We lost a playoff game to a 7th round rookie qb. Couldnt confuse him? trevon drops picks and wont tackle.

We only have up, as I recall, 12 points. Now, we have a NT who can prevent people from stepping up and shut down the run, and a LB who is very quick and a hard hitter.

That's not happening,

Clark is a far better linebacker and he saw hardly any snaps. Unless they see him in the jayron kearse role in a years time if he leaves.

I can see him being a rotational piece at LB. Especially with the fact that LVE has an injury history

That's my thought as well...or they are trying to replace Barr. Question is...what about Parsons? It's like they are trying to build a team without him.

Or they just gave him some help. A freak athlete to help him and a nose tackle. That helps Parsons .

I'm sorry, but how does this draft close the gap with Philly? It almost feels like we had the B version of Philly's draft. They get Jalen Carter, we get Mazi. They get Nolan Smith, we get Overshown. And we get a TE who I'm not sure is much better than what Schultz brought last year?

I'm not sure what concept they are trying to build for this upcoming year, but weren't we supposed to be a team that was going to be a running team, but we pass up an O lineman that falls into our lap and then we pass up an RB in the 3rd to draft a 24 year old TE with a couple of injuries and a niche linebacker. We had the consolation version of Philly's draft. I like the Mazi pick because it solves a need, but the TE and Overshown, what problems do they solve to make us significantly better?

They seem like additions in an area that we might not be great at, but we're not poor in. I can understand grabbing a TE because there was an ELITE TE sitting right there, but there wasn't.

I like Overshown in theory, like if we had all our needs covered and we were just going for splash players, but I frankly don't see what major role he's going to play next year. Is he going to bring significantly more than Jabril Cox? He's 220 lbs, so are they going to convert him at safety? Like what need does Overshown fill or what concept is he bringing to the table?

If we had a draft like Mazi, O'Cyrus, and a runningback, that would actually make sense. We beefed up the D line, we plugged a huge hole in the O line, especially with Philly ramping up their D line with Jalen Carter and we are solving a question mark at running back. With today's draft, I really don't know what they were attempting to do. It almost feels like they were trying to placate the fanbase in some weird way. Hey, you wanted a TE with that 1st pick? Here's one. You wanted Nolan Smith with that 1st pick? Here's our version of him.

If we don't do something in free agency, we're going into the season with huge holes and I don't see us really getting out of the 2nd round.

All of our first 3 draft choices would have still been available a round or two later than what we picked them. Underwhelmed here.

Mazi Smith wouldn't be available and Keeanu Benton the next dtackle was also long gone when our pick came up at 58. They would have totally lost out on dtackle which was a big need and has been for years.

I think the Mazi pick was a great one. I really don't know what they were doing today though.

I like Overshown in isolation if we didn't have other pressing needs.

The TE pick, I guess they did that to appease Mike. Otherwise, there's zero justification of making that pick with O'Cyrus on the board, especially when Philly just added Jalen Carter and Nolan Smith. Are we going to expect some 5th round project Olineman to step in and handle business? If Schoonmaker was some elite TE, I could understand making the pick, but you don't pass up a great O lineman for a solid TE.

Based on pre-draft projections by Lindy's Athlon, Kioer, etal, all three picks were picked too early.
Drafting for need instead of bpa, brings just more mediocrity for the long term. Still underwhelmed
