Yeah they were very fortunate not to sustain injuries except Hurts which happened late in the season.

I disagree…with Stoutland, the oline is always next man up. Would there be drop off? Of course…duh. There is for every team.

Eagles on the other hand created a system for Hurts to thrive and now defensive coordinators across the league got the blue print

The Eagles only have advantages with depth on the offensive and defensive lines. Martin and Parsons are the best linemen for both teams. The difference between the Cowboys and Eagles last season was two things injury and strength of schedule. If you judge the quarterbacks by throwing the football, Dak is light years better than Hurts. To me Hurts reminds me of rookie Dak, good quarterback but was overrated after a strong playoff performance against a GOAT quarterback in a lose. I think Wide receiver is really close now. I think CeeDee is a better wide receiver then Brown and I would take our top 3 receivers over Brown, Smith and whoever they have. We have better coaches. We have two head coaches on our staff. One more thing the Eagles worst injuries last season was Davis with a high ankle sprain. Hurts had a shoulder sprain and their right tackle hurt his oblique at the end of the season. I have never seen a team with that type of injury good luck.

On a high level Eagles have had a big loss of talent.

The players out will sign for between 80-100m (total 2023 salary) and it’s been replaced by something like 20m. Even with a super draft and clever signings that’s a lot of ground to make up.

The Cowboys on the other hand lost about 20m (total 2023 salary) worth of players and signed/traded for around 30m worth of players. They didn’t need to do nearly as much in the draft because there isn’t the same talent loss.

That’s not saying the Cowboys are now better than Eagles but in terms of who stepped forward and who stepped back it’s hard to argue in favor of the Eagles.

Really shouldn't GAD about what other teams' methods are. Just be the best team you can be. Sounds corny but selecting players in the draft and free agency specifically to handle one opposing player seems unnecessary to me. Not a fan of that type of drafting.

Eagles have rookies and second year players that they are hoping to replace veteran production with. They are worse and anyone who claims otherwise is a homer. Cowboys upgraded the defense and got playmakers in Cooks and Schoonmaker.

There is no way of knowing how fast, or even if, young players develop. That goes for every team. The Cowboys play a tougher schedule than the Eagles. Shouldn’t be that way but it is. The three opponents they don’t have in common, Philly gets KC, a tougher draw than LAC, but the Chargers do have a new OC who has some recent familiarity with the Cowboys. Eagles get Tampa Bay, with Baker Mayfield, Dallas gets Carolina. Some would suggest Carolina is already the better team. Philly draws Minnesota, Dallas get Detroit. Which one would you rather play? And the three toughest common opponents, Miami, Buffalo, and San Francisco, somehow Philly gets all three at home, Dallas plays all three on the road. (conspiracy?). And even if the Jets are strong with Rodgers, not much of a road trip for the Eagles, 90 miles to a stadium they are, obviously, very familiar with. No one is running away with the NFC East this season. Eagles are not winning 14 games, I’d bet on that. But the Cowboys winning 12 is unlikely, as well. Schoonmaker not withstanding.

Nobody is talking schedule and I don’t see Hurts carrying a team like Mahomes did.
