I'd trade Diggs for Donald today, and I LOVE Diggs on this team. It would leave us thin at corner, but imagine having guys like Micah, Lawrence, and Williams coming off the edge, Hankins or Mazi demanding double teams, and Donald creating chaos across the interior line.

Our safeties and linebackers are good enough and fast enough to swarm the ball on short passes. Anything intermediate or long is out of the question because the pocket will collapse 80% of the time. Is it necessary to have an all-pro corner with that kind of lineup?

Running up the middle would be impossible, and good luck getting to the edge with that speed on the field.

Diggs is due a big contract, and I'd imagine Donald would warrant about the same, if not a little more. Well worth the additional investment for what he brings to the table.
Sounds like a great idea. I think the Cowboys should consider making that offer to the Rams. Brilliant.

If you make the divisional round and lose a close game to the Whiners, a team that was capable of winning the Superbowl, if they don’t lose their QB, and then you have a strong draft filling needs, and a strong FA filling more needs. I say we are now ready to contend for a title.

In other words, WE ARE CLOSE!
Any team hoping the difference between losing in the divisional round and being in the Super Bowl is a draft pick is deluding themselves.

How would you know what he would do at this point? I suspect that he is about done.
I said I THINK he would ball out. I didn’t say I know.

I suspect you are wrong. I think AD is more likely to ball out this year than be done!

Mahomes is also the missing part Or Burrow etc.

Haley was traded because the 49ers are ready to move on after clashes with Seifert.

You’re going to give up about 3 first round picks and multiple day two picks and his contract as well.
Yep. If I could pick all the missing pieces every year, we’d have a multi-decade dynasty. Aaron Donald ain’t coming to Dallas. Ditto Mahomes. Looks to me like we need a very effective duo at RB and we’ll be fine. I think the WC offense will suit Dak very well, and I think our defense is already stacked. If we can avoid the injury bug, we’ll have a very good regular season. Having Philly in the division doesn’t help, but a healthy team structured as it is right now can compete with any team in the NFC.

I'd be all for it but he's been flirting with retirement the last couple of seasons
Yeah, he is really playing for the money. He has nothing else to prove as his legacy as one if the best was established after the SB run and he might be thinking more of being a dad at home than a football player.

Wouldn’t you love to add AD to the rotation. With our DE’s coming off the edge?
With a dominant D there is less pressure on Dak. He can relia on the D, the running game and a little play action now and then. We can win a Superbowl with Dak if he only needs to drive the bus.
I’d love to add Mahomes but it’s not realistic and neither is AD

I think the Cowboys were really savvy with the trade moves they made.

I’m just saying that they shouldn’t let worrying about re-signing Diggs/Lamb/Parsons get in the way of injecting even more talent into the club in the immediate future.

Feels like we’ve just done that over and over already, and the team is always only an A- at best.
It’s more important to keep young talent than add old talent. The whole AD thing is like saying let’s add Mahomes. It’s not realistic. The Rams would have over 40 mil in dead money, AD contract would cost all the cap space we have coming in June plus some. But the timing too would just be silly for the rams. If they wanted to trade AD then they could have before the draft and got picks to replace him, while knowing when that pick would be. Trading now you leave a big hole and you can’t fill it till next draft while trading for a pick you have no idea when it will be.
There are dozens of players around the league that would help this team but the vast majority of them you couldn’t get even if you wanted to

Of course Donald is probably not coming to Dallas, but you never know. Who thought we would get Charles Haley or Deon Sanders? I would settle for a top 10 DT not named Donald.

Some of you people are little Debbie Downers.

Teams make big moves every year in trades, free agency, etc. etc. to try to win the Super Bowl. Because there are 32 other teams trying to win the Super Bowl, most of the time, these big moves don’t put their team over the top, BUT almost every year the team that wins the Super Bowl makes a big move that helps THEM win the Super Bowl.

We are close, I think if we made a big move to trade for a stud DT like Donald we would have a MUCH better chance of winning the Super Bowl.

It makes no sense to say it is more important to add young talent than old talent. If the older talent is one of the best DT’s of all time and the young talent is just a mediocre starter who would you rather have genius?

Debbi Downers like you would never be a successful GM. Sometimes you take calculated risk to get over the top. We didn’t do it last year. We should this year!

Maybe. We should go out and get another top 10 DT then.
We need 1 more stud DT to take this D to the elite level( less than 14 points a game ).

We had a very good defensive draft: We picked up a big run stuffing DT, a LBer/Safety with speed and attitude and a DT/DE who should help at both positions.

We finally used Free Agency to pickup a true difference maker on defense: Gilmore is a smart and athletic, top 10 CB, who will solidify the corner spot opposite DIggs! HUGE upgrade over Brown!!

Aaron Donald, smack dab in the middle of our defense, with the other additions we have made on D, will enable OUR defense to leap frog the Forty Whiners defense and become THE DOMINANT D in the NFL. By DOMINANT, I mean less than 14 points a game.

A DOMINANT D will take so much pressure of Dak. He won’t be expected to throw the ball 40 times a game. Let the D and the running game do most of the heavy lifting. Dak can pick his spots.

Jerry, make this bold Charles Haley type move, and watch us steam roll the Whiners in the playoffs and KC in the Superbowl!!
Great player but expensive and wants to retire a ram new deal means he cant move without a lot of dead cap and he was close to hanging it up before they backed the dump trick up to keep him...not happening, anther dreamer here with missing piece of the puzzle, common sense!! salary cap says NOPE. blue ink =dead cap

His salary is guaranteed for 2023...New team would inherit the contract.
I could be wrong but dead cap means that what the old team carries on their cap..no way hes tradeable for 2 years after 2024 maybe. Either way he does NOT fit on our current teams cap.
