CFZ What Triggers Eagles Hate For Most Cowboys Fans?

I was watching a replay of the 2nd Wash vs Phil game from 2022 which ended 32-21 Wash and left Phila at 8-1. For some reason unknown to me, I thoroughly enjoyed watching Philly lose. I mean, I "Really" felt some pleasure from watching them lose. I passionately hate that team, city, fans and the state in general because of Pittsburgh.

I trace the hate back to the Dick Vermiel days. The Cowboys used to smoke this team in the 70's, fell off in the early 80's including the 1980 NFC Championship Game, which was also called the "Blue Jersey Game", on account that the Eagles, having the choice as the home team, made the Cowboys wear their seemingly cursed blue jerseys (a stigma that dated back to Super Bowl V). To the cheers of a roaring Veterans Stadium crowd, the Eagles defeated the Cowboys 20–7.

And for me, the 90's excluding 3 SB trophies only added fuel to the damn fire!
I am triggered by triggering.

Also on a completely separate note... group of us(5) will be going to the Giants / Cowboys game this year to see the stadium and what not for the first time. Any recommendations on what to do around town, places to visit, eat and etc. Guess just message me to not hijack the thread

Their fans. I've yet to meet an Eagle fan from Philly. How can you be from the great state of Texas and choose the Eagles as your team?

During the strike year, toward the end when the players returned, Randy White and Tony Dorsett crossed the picket line. There was something about their contracts which would perhaps have cost them a bunch of money. So they came in.

Dallas was scheduled to play the Eagles. Landry put both players into the game, and Buddy Ryan was furious.

After the strike ended, Dallas again played the Eagles. The Eagles were ahead and just going to take a knee, but Randall Cunningham pulled up and threw a touchdown pass.

He immediately apologized to the Dallas players because Buddy Ryan made him throw that pass.

Moving on in time, Buddy Ryan put a bounty on a specific player for the Cowboys. I don't remember who, and suspect it was a QB like Staubach, but just don't recall who.

To say the least, the Dallas fans took this as a supreme insult.

It's been the Hatfield's and McCoy's ever since.

Not really sure if that is the case any more. There are never Dallas threads on the Eagles boards any more. Yes we still hate the Cowboys, but it's different than it used to be. It's here where you see the rivalry being discussed the most...by far these days
:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: Y’all are CONSUMED with the Cowboys. I don’t know how many times I heard an Eagles fan say “As long as we beat Dallas it’s been a successful year.”

Their Super Bowl win crushed me almost as much as ANY Cowboy loss I've ever experienced....it was the ONE thing we had on that toilet of a city, and easily the most criminal fans ever. I want to vomit every time their fans behavior is excused as simply being passionate.

Lol…you can believe what you want to believe. You are such a homer it’s almost useless to discuss anything with you (even for Cowboy fans). I remember Eagles fans saying things like that that back in the mid 90s, but I haven’t heard any Eagle fan say anything of the sort in about a quarter century. Time does pass you know

This topic should be more like. Why is the Dallas Cowboys still living rent free in Eagle fan's heads since day 1?? I don't hate the Eagles team just their hateful fan base.

Budy Ryan era when he called Randal Cunningham to fake a kneel then throw a TD. Iggles were already up 40 points by then and game was long since over.
I actually didn't have a problem with that, and here's why. We beat them pretty bad, running up the score earlier in the season. They were fielding a team of replacements against our team which had 15 or 16 regular players who crossed the picket line. We ran up the score on their obviously outmatched team. Hell, we had White and Jones in on defense against guys who were average D1 players. I just saw it as payback.

The Eagles were not up by 40. It was 30-20 when they pulled that off. In fact, a few of the Eagle players told our defense that the next play would be a fake. I guess no one believed them.

The game that pissed me off was losing to the Commanders. Them and the Eagles were the only teams to have no one cross the picket line that season (1987).

If you heard an Eagle fan say that then you just ran into a stupid stupid fan. There are plenty of stupid/homer fans in every city. Go to the Eagles board and see how many posts you see about the Cowboys…and then check the history of subjects posted about the Eagles here over the last few years. It’s not close, really

Yep, generally incivility and vile nature of the city as a whole does it for me. Those fans deserve to wallow in misery
Nah, Rittenhouse Square is really nice, as is the art museum district. Everywhere, else, lock and load. The good news is if you have a CCP, Pennsylvania is reciprocal with Texas as long as the holder is a Texas resident and 21+ years old.

Aikman and Zendejas were targeted.

It started for me during the Dick Vermeil years but they became my most hated team during the Buddy Ryan days. The day those obnoxious fans cheered for Michael Irvin's injury was another one. Just hate everything about that team.
Yeah....that Irvin moment was bad.

It's why I get so mad in here when posters here start rooting for guys to get injured.

If I have seen 1 post in here I've seen 100, encouraging Cowboys players to plow into someone's leg and "take them out if their QB runs" or something.

The guy rooting for the Bills player to end Aaron Rodgers season (because he dared to beat us) was the most shameful.

There are scumbags everywhere...

This right here.

The Eagles as a team was irrelevant to me in the '80s and '90s. They sucked. It was the Giants and skins that drew my ire.
In the late 2000s, I started to get a little annoyed with the Eagles because of McNabb and DeSean Jackson, but that Sweep plus knocking them out in the WildCard game, took all of the sting off of that.

Fast forward to the past few years, and it's their dumb*** fans that annoy me. But the good news is that they're the most fairweather fans on the planet. When things don't go their way, they want everyone fired and cut. It's hilarious how fast they turned on Howie and Pederson in a short time after their very first Lombardi. Ingrates! They now love Howie and their new Crying Coach, but if they miss the playoffs just once, they'll be on the hotseat again.
They aren't Fairweather....that's called schizo. They sell out 100% even when they suck. LOS angeles are fair weather...they'll just move on to something else if their teams suck and not lose sleep. Eagles fans might go nuts and punch a horse or burn cars, but you CANT call them apathetic

I must ask one question. I know I'm going to receive a bit of flack for this, but it's an observation that I've noticed recently. Is the rivalry for the fans or the players? I ask because it seems to me the rivalry with the players (aside from Dak) seems to not be as pertinent. I noticed during the warmups last year on the SNF broadcast that some of the players on both teams hugged and such. I know Dak doesn't like the Eagles, but I'm curious how much of the sentiment that we have for Philly is actually shared by the players.
Very little.

They probably have intense personal rivalries with individuals...but trust me if Philly offered Dak more money he'd get Fly Eagles Fly tattooed on his rear.

If we paid AJ Brown 15 mil more than Philly he'd use the liberty bell as a toilet
