The point is the expectations on a 3rd round wr were way overblown and too many people are giving up after barely a season...
I understand the point, and I think you're overselling the expectations and underselling the disappointment. but yes, still not giving up on the kid and think he's a gamer.

I agree with that. Still, it's concerning he couldn't grasp the playbook.
I read it was route concepts which is more complicated that just learning how to run a set route. He came from a small school and a really simple system. Getting dinged up slowed him down in camp some too. This is gonna be a huge camp for him. Hopefully he put in the off season work learning what he needs

Yeah, the wrs were expected to read the defense just like qb.

I think there are a lot of cowboys fans on this site that expected way more out of him and have been very vocal unfortunately...maybe just my observation

They have. but that's because he had 2 catches. having high expectations and expecting way more than 2 catches aren't necessarily the same thing. all good though, hope he satisfies the naysayers

Fairly common for teams to run option routes but kinda hard to learn for a rookie who played in a very simple system
But he needs to make huge strides this year. He has the physical tools

I’ve seen jmc play since HS, he’s a gamer. Stayed home (Fresno State) so his family would be able to watch him play, even with pac 12 offers. Kid is the real deal and his whole family are huge cowboys fans. He’s going to give it his all, all the time. He was a great pick up.
