If we get to remove those 2 or 3 mistakes we made, or plays we didn't make...in those crucial games....does the other team also get to remove 2 or 3 mistakes and add 2 or 3 missed plays or remove 2 or 3 injuries? Or do only we get to do that?

Your acting like the 9ers were perfectly healthy....and didn't have a handful of plays THEY would like to have over again.

If you play the woulda-coulda-shoulda game equally on both sides...the gap is still there...just like it was on the scoreboard. I hate the 9ers as much as you... but they beat us....because they were the better team.
No, what I'm saying is they were evenly matched and just a few key plays could have changed which way the game went. Kittle makes a ridiculous circus catch then Diggs drops an INT. Those (plus Dak's stupid red zone INT) were basically the three key plays of the game.

Your record is what it says it is, according to Parcells.

We are 0-2 the last couple of playoffs to the 49ers. That's the gap.

A lot can change year to year so maybe the third time (or the sixth) time is the charm?

I think those are the top 3 teams in the NFC. And All three have question marks. So the gap is very small to ziltch between the 3. I give the 9ers a slight edge due to their D being as good as they are. However, if our D is as good as they are on paper, again, that closes down that gap. I am just as interested to see who the surprise team is that may take all 3 of these teams out.

I guess we have a gap on the Eagles since we are 3 and 1 against them the last 2 years.

fact boils down to this and this is again no shade on Dak

if Dak takes those two interceptions and instead of throwing the ball to the other team he decided to throw the ball in the 3 row we go to the NFC title game

thats how slim the gap is....its hardly there....Eagles arent unbeatable...we probably sweep them if Dak played both games....heck we sweep them if Rush didnt throw multiple ints....

defense eventually started getting stops...but sometimes you get punched in the mouth....

the 49ers Right now going into the year i think we're better.....but i also thought we were better the past two playoff games
Get swept if Minshew didn't throw multiple ints...or Hurts played both games

Take away homer thoughts, both the 49ers/Eagles last yr were clearly better teams then the Cowboys:

-Both teams were absolutely loaded personnel wise. Eagles lost arguably their best defensive player in Hargrave, who signed with the 49ers. Lost their coordinators on both sides of the football and now will be counting on several young prospects to make an impact. Eagles are quite like the Cowboy team, but still have better players inside the trenches on both side of the football. Eagles might see a little step back due to a lot unproven talent.

-The 49ers, in my opinion are a different animal, health remains a concern, along with their QB position. Will teams figure out Purdy? The same can be said about Hurts. Usually, when given an off-season, defensive coordinators will find weaknesses to exploit. Will they find away to overcome the so called 2nd yr jinx? How do teams successfully attack the 49er defense?

-Cowboys definitely can play with both teams, but they will need to play more clean and take advantage of their opponents mistakes. Still believe their is a gap. but not as wide as previous seasons.
I don’t see the Eagles/Niners as “clearly better”, and that’s NOT “Homer Talk”. The Niners only beat us 19-12, and THAT was because our QB had his worst game and threw 2 picks. We split with Philly, so it’s not clean cut there, either!

As far as 2023, MAYBE the gap is even smaller. We’ve improved our team, but Philly? They have a tougher schedule, and have a new DC and OC. San Fran is more “unstable” at QB. We’ll see. Look forward to it!

I hear both teams have shed players from last year.

Still, player for player, pound for pound, me Cowboys match up extremely well with the 9ers and Egirls.
One area in which the huge disparity is obvious is QB.
Deek is a bus driver who panics when the fish and chips are down.
We suffer the terrible reality that Deek is our QB until our window of opportunity closes in 2 years.

To all of the folks here saying there isnt a gap.....most of pro football disagrees with you
How? Seriously . Has Philly beat Dallas with Dak at QB? No , They haven't So where's the Gap ?

San Fran while a good team, I am a Dak Prescott Fan, and even I have said he wet the bed. He does not screw the Pooch and we beat them at their house.

point is to say THERE IS A GAP. You either have an agenda, or you just plain old don't know football.

Either way, Your not worth listening to

I know there’s a rabid anti-Dak faction, but I think we CAN win a SB with Dak. Just look at all the “inferior” QB’s who have played in the Super Bowl—Foles, Flacco, Hostetler, Rypien, Williams, Eli, McMahon, Brad Johnson, Dilfer, etc., etc.

This is a good post. The difference is minimal IMO and I believe the argument can be made that Dallas is better (on some days). The playoff game vs SF was a toss up. If Zeke doesn’t space out on a sure TD pass, if Diggs doesn’t let the ball go through his hands, if Pollard doesn’t get hurt, if Dak doesn’t turn the ball over, if we had a confident kicker… just a couple tweaks and they win that game. The divide isn’t large. At all.

Youre a nice man! Move along then if Im not worth listening to. The old you dont know football axiom. .
just wow. If someone disagrees with you, you resort to insults. How grown up. Again, most experts and football fans all around the league would agree with my statement. I hope im wrong and there is no gap. Look at any power ranking and show me one where Dallas is ranked with Philly.
But you are right and everyone else is wrong. Must be nice up on that high horse.
I will relent somewhat and say right now its all a blank slate and hopefully Dallas is indeed even or ahead of Philly.

We were a QB away last year but that was last year. Each year is different. Have to wait and see.

Most commentators hate the cowboys too and can’t be unbiased. Just sayin.
Well I believe that is true somewhat. I dont believe the world is out to get us. Thats just paranoia at that point. EVERY ranking EVERYWHERE would have us behind Philly. Im sad to say it but I think thats true.
