After this offseason, and the draft, there is no gap.

This is a good post. The difference is minimal IMO and I believe the argument can be made that Dallas is better (on some days). The playoff game vs SF was a toss up. If Zeke doesn’t space out on a sure TD pass, if Diggs doesn’t let the ball go through his hands, if Pollard doesn’t get hurt, if Dak doesn’t turn the ball over, if we had a confident kicker… just a couple tweaks and they win that game. The divide isn’t large. At all.
Especially after we added Cooks and GIlmore, and Smith.

Take away homer thoughts, both the 49ers/Eagles last yr were clearly better teams then the Cowboys:

-Both teams were absolutely loaded personnel wise. Eagles lost arguably their best defensive player in Hargrave, who signed with the 49ers. Lost their coordinators on both sides of the football and now will be counting on several young prospects to make an impact. Eagles are quite like the Cowboy team, but still have better players inside the trenches on both side of the football. Eagles might see a little step back due to a lot unproven talent.

-The 49ers, in my opinion are a different animal, health remains a concern, along with their QB position. Will teams figure out Purdy? The same can be said about Hurts. Usually, when given an off-season, defensive coordinators will find weaknesses to exploit. Will they find away to overcome the so called 2nd yr jinx? How do teams successfully attack the 49er defense?

-Cowboys definitely can play with both teams, but they will need to play more clean and take advantage of their opponents mistakes. Still believe their is a gap. but not as wide as previous seasons.
The difference in 2021 was 7 points, and in 2022 it was 6 points. So, it is a one score difference between the teams.

Between the Eagles and Cowboys, there was a 3 point difference in the scores of the games in 2022: Eagles won by 9 games against the Dak-less Cowboys, and lost by 6 when Dak was under center.

Had Philly signed Gilmore (4 teams in 4 seasons) and Cooks (5th team) posters here would be referring to them as “trash journeymen” and laughing at the ”eagirls” for thinking that’s what they need to beat Mahomes. I live in Northern California. 49ers fans all believe Purdy is a Hall of Famer, right now. I know it’s difficult to keep an appropriate perspective when it comes to our favorite teams. I guess we’ll find out soon enough.

...The NFL does not spend money on the run game. Running backs, interior linemen and linebackers are among the lowest-paid positions in the league. Modern analytics tend to indicate that’s the best way to win games.

But the Cowboys have pumped resources into those areas in recent years — spending first round picks on a defensive tackle and (projected) guard, a flurry of mid-round picks on linebackers and making a move in 2022 for Johnathan Hankins...

...If Mallepalle still values running backs who create additional yards, she’s sure to love Pollard. He averaged the third-most rushing yards over expected (RYOE) per attempt, according to Next Gen Stats. And in two games as the starter, he put up 3.19 yards after contact per attempt.

It’s hard to see the Cowboys passing on a potential Pollard extension if the organization’s direction continues. Mike McCarthy and Brian Schottenheimer want to run the football, and they’re going to pump resources into making the rushing attack a fine-tuned machine, unlike the one that’s teetered out in January each of the last two years.
