I said Barkley I didn’t say anything about Jacobs. McDaniels is their coach. He’s trash.
It all works the same. If Barkley can be replaced by a number of inexpensive committees in the NFL and they can replicate what he does, why are you paying him more? For jersey sales?

He’s not close to as valuable as Martin, specifically because he plays running back

This isn't a contract "holdout." It's a contract "breach." Martin has reneged on his word, letting down his teammates and the entire organization. I have no sympathy for him.

Give him a 5 million dollar bonus or trade him.

Or do nothing.

Don't whine if it blows up in your face later this year Jerry, it's your fantasy team.

Talk is cheap. Jerry will eventually make Martin the highest paid guard in the NFL.

What exactly is a "prominent Cowboys insider"? Are the prominent ones paid more by Booger to feed the fire?
Jerry probably loves this anyway. It's another way for people to talk about the Cowboys. He's not about winning. He's about selling the brand.

When you are on the same team you do not "dig in" with a guy like Martin who has been a quiet star for years. I understand the position with the CAP but Martin is not the guy you use to set an example. They gave Malik Hooker money, and while I like him, I would never have considered him a priority. That deal has to have Martin fuming.

This is what irritates me about the salary CAP. Veterans like Martin who earned their money wind up begging for crumbs at the end of their careers. If Jerry sticks to his guns, Martin will need to leave Dallas with maybe 2 years left in his career to get a contract after having been an all-pro HoF RG for Dallas since he left college. Vets like Martin should get some kind of CAP exemption so they can finish their careers with the team they started with. This is where the old days were better for fans. Guys played for the same team and became part of that team for posterity. There is something cool about that that doesn't exist anymore.

The time to dig in was with Zeke. He never deserved $15 million per year.

I'm with you on this. I just don't care that he's not at camp. If he doesn't play, then I'll care. At some point Jerry has to make a stand or else he's going to look like an idiot. If he hasn't already. You can't talk tough, then ultimately swallow. Or else no one is going to take you seriously anymore.

thats the problem they couldn't get what he is worth to this current team, he will play this year and it wont be the cap strapping end of days Jerry is trying to sell everyone.

....drop the mike. Dial the Jason Peters insurance plan again.

@42, he still throws dudes around.
Was thinking that yesterday……sign Peters, he still probably better than the depth we have at tackle or guard…..sounds like the second team lineman aren’t doing all that great.
