Don't you know that it's only a bad move when the Cowboys do it?
Truth. If the Eagles did make this trade we’d be discussing how they have a real GM and we don’t. It’s on record that I’m not a fan of Jerry the GM but I’m a fan of this trade and I feel Jerry did good. Jerry did what other GMs do, he saw a way to possibly upgrade his team and didn’t worry about hurting Dak’s feelings. This is so unlike Jerry and the way Jerry coddles his QBs that I’m impressed he did it. And it takes a lot for me to say Jerry did good. It’s like complimenting my ex girlfriend, it just feels wrong but I believe Jerry did a good GM move here.

Exactly, this was a good move. It's a chance to reset the contract clock on QB if he wants to do that. If nothing else, the Cowboys now have a lot of cap flexibility.

Straight from that article: Lance fortunately has time to get himself off this list.

I don't know why our fans have such a tendency to overreact. I don't see anyone on here calling him a great acquisition, only some saying that he has shown some ability and we'll see how it goes.

Some may be excited about what they think he can become and the fact that if that happens, then trading a fourth for him would be a value. Frankly, I would have liked to have gotten him for less or even nothing, but that didn't happen. Instead, I'll wait and see whether he's a bust or whether he gets himself off that list.

He also been in league since 2019 and played for over 5 teams and hit his ceiling which is back up QB. Lance was always going to be a developmental QB and we still don't know his ceiling. I'll be rooting for him.
What five NFL teams did Minshew play for?

The Cowboys just traded a 4th round pick for a player who should be on Alabama this season. Lance was a top 3 pick in the Parsons draft at 20 years of age. He is more talented then any quarterback on the roster.

and if we hit, we have a QB on the cheap, for the future. I like it.
Cowboys used a 4th round pick for their current QB1. They’re paying him $40 million per season and considering paying him even more. If Lance, also acquired for a 4th round pick, ascends to QB1 he’ll be looking for even more. There is nothing cheap about anything done here.

The ironic thing is they don't realize a move like this prevents us from having Drew Hensens or Chad Hutchinsons when Dak leaves.
This also gives us leverage if Dak wants 60 million APY in a year from now. I think some are forgetting that small detail.
