Why do people act like Jason Garret is still the head coach?

The Cowboys have been having let down games long before Jason Garrett was the coach, and after he was the coach. Anytime we face a backup QB there’s always a chance of a letdown, especially after the dominating win we had last week. The Cowboys have had a bad history in recent years against backup QBs. We’ve lost to a string of backup QB’s the past decade.
Because we had bad defenses.... we don't have that anymore

Heck they had letdown games with Landry and Jimmy too (1985 at Detroit, 1992 home vs the Rams as two examples) It’s the NFL. This stuff happens.

This team isn't the 8-8 cowboys of old. I don't see a scenario where Dan Quinn and Micah have a let down game against Zach Wilson. You guys need to let the Garret era go he can't hurt you anymore.
Garrett destroyed a generation of Cowboys football with his nonsense. Man was a fraud. He should be bashed here whenever possible.

We didn’t have a bad defense last year, but that didn’t stop us from blowing a 14 point lead to Green Bay and a 17 point lead to Jacksonville. We ended the regular season by being embarrassed by a bad Washington team with a rookie QB making their first NFL start. If you don’t show up to play, it doesn’t matter what kind of defense you have.

Dak needs to be the bus driver he is and not play hero ball like Allen tried to do Monday night....and we will win.

It has happened under every HC we’ve had, but it seems to have happened more frequently the past decade.

It was not meaningless at the time we were playing the game.
Ok, I take it back, I think it was for a 5% chance to get the #1 seed.

Either way, taking a single random game from the past and making it the entire basis for expecting a win or loss doesn’t make much sense to me. This is the NFL and every team is made up of pros. You can lose to any team, even a very bad one, any given week. the Chiefs literally lost to one of the worst teams in football last season in the Colts. Ended up not meaning much.

On the flip side, how many times have people around here complained about how the Cowboys have dominated early in the season while they limped into the playoffs? Those wins don’t matter at all in January. At that point it’s about getting hot at the right time.

Super bowls are not won or lost in September and Pro football is about your entire body of work. If you overreact to every single week, you will be constantly chasing a ghost.

But we're scarred for life.

We had no second corner? Were you watching those games? Watson torched bossman who isn't even on the team anymore. I don't even remember who the second corner was against jaxonville but they were awful too.

The jets were all in with rodgers, many plays in their playbook were what rodgers wanted in.
Now he is gone, wilson is in, and they have 1 week to make alot of adjustments.
Rodgers got all the 1st team work etc, so they seem totally unprepared for the loss of rodgers.

I dont think they can be ready to play a defense like ours in one week.

Do they still have mike white??

No one “acts like Garrett is the head coach”.

What a baffling post.

Not having a second corner doesn’t mean we had a bad defense which is what you claimed. Our defense was ranked 14th last season. That’s not bad! We had one of the best pass rushes we’ve had in years last season. You won’t find anyone who’ll say we had a bad defense last season.

Problem is you're not just facing Zach Wilson....you're playing a New York Jets team that is really good. That team is stacked both on offense and defense. Very similar to the Cowboys last year with Cooper Rush. They have a defense that can shut down quality offenses, as well as a quality Oline and depth at both RB and receiver.

Dont think this is an easy W like we are playing Arizona or something.
Agree.

Jets are not easy.
