Cowboys PFF Offensive Grades - Season To Date

You do realize that ranking in the upper third of the league is above average by definition right?
I have a different rating system. 1-5 elite. 6-10 above average 11-15 average. 16-20 belie average and the rest are scrubs lol.

Grade school level math suggests that if Dak was "average" among the 35 quarterbacks qualifying for these grades he would be anywhere in the 17-25 range and not 11th; which is his actual grade.

And if we take away the three interception game against the 49ers (I know we can't) he would easily have a grade higher than 11th.
Well wecant take awag any game. Lets hope the next game evens it out.

I was thinking 11 isnt so far away from average that that guy shouldnt get too much ridicule? Only a few spots away from center. And seemingly out of top 10 for now.

I also need to check how far the stats are not just rank.

And yes....i can do basic math average...but its not a single number, its a range. How big of one is what i was getting at.

you have a diferent rating system based off of PFF's rating system? not to nitpick but why not just say Dak is not ranked 11 in my system he is more like 15th..

What the range of the subset? Only plus or minus two?

Thats fine....just want to establish it.

Also how far away their stats really are off the mean.

I really appreciate your PFF #s posts.

Dallas has converted only 39.1% of their red zone trips into touchdowns, down from a league leading 71.4% in 2022.

It’s difficult to determine exactly what the issue is, and why the offense has been so ineffective in the red area.

With a gauntlet of a schedule after the bye week, red zone touchdowns instead of field goals will be the difference between wins and losses.

You seem to think the subsets are "Elite, Average, and Poor".
Nope...but that is exactly my point....everyone has a different range.

It actually doesnt matter tome if dak is ranked low elite high average.
...whatever!. I just found it intetesting people got their thor hammer out over a handful of spots....like actually wanna fight about it.

Well then, why insult me with the "must not know how to do math" comment?

If you're categorizing all the teams' QBs into two equal sets, Dak would be in the "good" set. If you use three equal sets, then Dak would be on the cusp of "average" and "good". If you do any more than three, Dak falls into "above average".

How's my math?

Zack Martin is #7 but he is usually 1 or 2.

Steele = huge disappointment after getting a new contract. Hopefully his injury is holding him back.

Biadasz is higher than I expected.

All of our TEs are lousy blockers. It is an area that requires the most improvement.

That's fine if it's your system but the mathematical and statistical definitions disagree with you. My standard has always been the top 10% is elite.. so 3.5 out of 35.. round it to 4.. Anything in the upper 20% would have to be considered at "very good." So that's the top 7 or 8. Currently this system has Dak graded around the top 30%. Which I would consider above average to good. And we all know that ranking is being dragged down by one game. If he strings together a couple more games like his last one he will likely climb into that top 7 o r 8 realm which frankly is about where he belongs. Not creme of the crop but certainly above most of his peers. Time will tell.. THAT's why the play the games!
