Lets just say we had no penalty from the 5 on that last drive. Dak drops back on the firts play and hits Ferguson for a TD and we win. The standings would be different, we would have a better shot at homefield, but besides those two things, nothing would be any different than it is today.

Games like this with 2 good teams often come down to a play here or there, a penalty here or there. So had we won, would that impact the next time we play? NOPE.

Would it impact a playoff game against the Lions, Eagles or Niners? Nope

We are good, but NOBODY is going to win every week. Every team in the league has laid an absolute stinker against a bad team.

So in the end, Im actually more encouraged. Dak absolutely showed he can dominate the Eagles. Im not sure why we doubted it, hes been doing it already.

Oh... its Jerry's fault. Im not sure what exactly is his fault, but I just needed to get that in.

Psychological impact as much as anything.

sorry have to disagree - this team has been notorious for not being able to get over the hump and win in big spots against great teams - what would have been different is they would have actually shown an example of a "statement" win....of which they have none other than maybe the TB playoff game last year or the Seattle Playoff game back in 2016....other than that every big moment is a big disapointment.

Beat NY Sunday, be 2 games down with 8 games to go. And we get Philly in our house later on.

We have 4 winnable games and Philly have 3 tough games they could lose.

Even if they lose one game, we can even things up with them if we win all 4 or ours.
The issue then is we have 3 tough games of 4, and they 3 layup games, and possibly 4. to end the season.

We need to get 2 games up on them including a win against them. But I doubt that happens.

We win the next 4 games, and they lose their 3. we will be 9-3 and they will be 8-4 when we play them. Probably a dream.

2014, 1981, 1994... all have ZIP to do with this season.

The Bengals had jack squat as far as history goes, then all of the sudden they did.

The Rangers hadnt won a WS for how long? Then all of the sudden, they are Champions.

These are pro athletes.... there isnt a man in the Locker Room that doesnt think they are better than the Eagles.

Hell, I bet Peter McNeeley actually thought he had a shot against Mike Tyson.

Agree. Being down 2.5 games Is better than 1.5 to the division leader.
How do you figure it’s better to be 2.5 games down to the Eagles than 1.5 games down?

Cowboys-Eagles has been a matchup of 2 good teams for years and I expected them to split the games. Yes i'd feel better if the Boys beat the eagles twice but that is just unlikely.

It was big loss. Period.
But a long way to go.
I will see how it all plays out.

5-3
6-2

I would suggest there would have been some movement in the team's win and loss columns, that differed in reality, had the team won.
