So good, I feel like he almost gives us an upgrade over Diggs, because he plays the run game well.

I knew Bland was good last year. I just didn't know if he could do it consistently again, and he has proven he's now a top corner in the league, in my mind.

I figure Diggs has helped his game, but the fact DaRon is willing to learn at a new level puts the icing on the cake.. Like CeeDee, his mind is in the right place, and his ego is in check.

As you said Also in the fifth round

Herschel Walker
Blaine Nye
Walt Garrison

IMHO it’s a little early to call him the best fifth round pick ever. I think from the names listed, over the course of a career I put Blaine Nye first. Fans today either don’t remember him or forget just how good he was. Walt Garrison, rest in peace, also made good contributions to the team over long period of time. Herschel Walker, well, helped build the dynasty the 90s by getting traded.

Bland though, is certainly off to the fastest start and could wind up being the best one of the lot

Great rookie year. Sophomore year tied for most Pick 6s in an NFL season. Leads NFL in INTs for 2022-2023 seasons. And still 7 games left! Unbelievable.

Was looking at the draft archives. Thought Jimmy might have drafted someone in the 5th that stood out this much, but no.

Have to go back to 1985 when the Cowboys picked Herschel Walker to find a similar steal, and that really wasn’t a typical draft pick. 1968 Blaine Nye, 1966 Walt Garrison

What a freaking find!
Almost not fair that Diggs is hurt. Best young corner duo in NFL if Diggs can play back to his pre-injury levels. Diggs, Bland and Gilmore. Wow. :flagwave:
The disrespect for D'Angelo Smith continues

Not even a mention....

Dude has made loosing Trevon Diggs sting less. Imagine Diggs and Bland both manning the outside CB spots next year. He is having a all pro year.
Thought about that. I mean let's say they keep everyone together... SB 2025 doesn't sound too bad.

And yes I know, there's still this season left lol.

After watching the Bland post-game interview, that kid seems to have the right attitude.

So happy for the guy being able to step up into every spot he's been asked to and excel in those spots. A keeper for sure.
that was a good interview with Erin A. Bland seems mature and real team oriented; pretty good qualities to have, and he's just taking off. If Howell throws at him Thursday, Look Out...

Just remember folks, Mo Claiborne was said to be the highest graded corner the Cowboys scouting department had ever graded.

Diggs and Bland play with the play-making instincts we so desperately lacked at the CB for eons.

Was a fan of T-New but he wasn’t as good as either one of these dudes.
