It’s not just this place it’s the internet and our current culture

I’ve been a part of this place since 06 and other Dallas forums and this kind of rhetoric and disagreements have always taken place

I also think we have a vocal minority on both sides of debate
Change 'think' to 'know' and I agree completely.

Unfortunately, this isn't the kind of forum that is open to people discussing facts or opinions. People share their opinions and they get accused of having agendas and labeled. I don't visit other sports forums anymore, but there used to be some where people were a lot more open minded and respected others opinions.
Every online discussion site has this problem unless the people who run it strictly limit which opinions you are allowed to post.

Those few places seem like utopias for a while until eventually you realize that slowly over time people tend to open or change their minds until they, themselves, feel less welcomed and leave the site.

Just because you let a few (and there really are not that many of them) vocal homers or haters who post a lot impact your happiness does not make this or any discussion site bad.

A few weeks ago on CowboysZone, this same poll showed over 90% of the fans were unhappy with Dak. So far with this poll, 78% are saying they are happy with him.

I think that perfectly proves just how many fans on CowboysZone have open minds.

I was wrong to criticize your poll. It did exactly what you wanted it to do. My compliments sirs.

Open minds? It could also be that some people are wishy washy in their opinions and constantly change them from week to week. For example, Dallas gets blasted by SF and Dak has a terrible game - 'OMG everyone hates Dak'. And this is followed by Dak being able to buildup some stats against really poor teams - 'OMG Dak is the best QB in the history of the game. Automatic MVP and first ballot HOF".

Only a few of us have held firm in our stance. The rest are going to break their legs jumping on and off the bandwagon.

And there is nothing wrong with having a strong opinion that you stand by regardless of what happens.

Fans by nature are fanatics which means they follow things they like because they bring them happiness or enjoyment and when those things stop doing that, they are unhappy.

The fact they are still coming to this or other sports sites and talking about the Cowboys shows they are real fans.

I get that some people hate to hear negative things and some people hate to hear positive things, but sites like CowboysZone provide a platform to share and discuss fan opinions, regardless if they never change their opinions or ebb and flow as the team's performance ebbs and flows.

You may not like what some people say or think, but I am sure some people do not like what you say or think.

I have said it many times, if everyone agreed then discussion sites would be really boring after a while.

I simply want Dak to win a tight game at the end of a game vs a legit team when it matters most. He’s yet to do this despite many opportunities. I’ll be the first to admit he’s playing lights out right now but let’s see it on the field come crunch time.

He is playing lights out right now, there is no denying it. He did his part to bring the team from behind against the Seattle Headhunters, and I was happy to see that.
I am not happy yet that he is the Cowboys QB - Play well in the playoffs and win the big one, and I will be happy.

The fun part is the journey. I don't think the team is good enough to go to the Super Bowl, but I hope I'm wrong. Playoff appearances is all I can ask for.

Its crazy to think anyone would say no to someone who is considered a front runner for the mvp of the league.

I would guess a lot of the negativity (on both sides) are as a counteraction to the overly vocal extreme on the opposing side.
How about us in the middle who can appreciate how well he's playing, however, fear we won't have the necessary CAP space for the weapons he needs IF he's given an elite contract (taking into account the bonus in arrears we need to factor it).
The question is more involved than 'happy with Dak' (yes at the moment, but let's see what he's looking for moving forward).

So if we aren't good enough for the SB this year, how do we propose to take that extra step.....and that's the reason that we can't ignore Dak's contract (and arrears).

I understand what youre saying but anyone whos followed this team and come away with its daks contract thats a detractor to success and getting playmakers isnt watching this team and its front office. Even if youre premise is correct and I dont feel that it is. Depending on this front office to fill in the spots they lack with available $$ has not watched this front office every March. Their process is to draft well and backfill with cheap FAs

And while they do draft well except for the occassional flyers they do they do not do well in FA market so this business that Daks contract is the reason why I push back on a some.

we are not as built good as san frisco thats clear as day and well need a few breaks. Daks contract is not the reason why. San Fran stunk it up for years and drafted very well its now paying dividends. They are excellent in the trenches. The trade they made for Mccaffery is huge. they got a top 3 RB and paired it with a top 5 line and their defense is solid as well

They can be had in the secondary if your line holds up well enough to have time to throw. Lately for Dallas anyway they havent been able to

It's not about blame. It's the fact that if you're paying your QB elite money he needs to be able to step up in the ultimate scenario's. Dak may be able to turn that page, but at the moment there are still question marks.
You can't start blaming lesser funded areas of the roster when your QB has such a large CAP%....and that will happen in Dak's case with the extension because we owe $61m in CAP arrears on top of Daks money.

It has absolutely 0 to do with how the team is funded and who has what % of the Cap. football is the ultimate TEAM sport and the QB is reliant on other aspects of the TEAM. Daks cap hit is going to be extended that was always the plan.

It's a team sport where your highest paid player have to play to that CAP hit....and even in cases where they are paid elite money, they have to make up for the loss of talent in other areas. Eg Mahomes - Hill.
My point is you can't have Dak earning elite money (+ Bonus arrears) and then deflect responsibility on the O-line, D-Line, or lack of tools.
The configuration of the extension is going to be an important factor on our ability to produce a winning roster (as well as an independent GM).
