Last Friday morning, had hernia surgery at 7:30 AM. Was heading home just before noon the same day.
Up walking around, doing fine. Needed no help getting up out of bed. But will still take it easy for the next week or so.

Now getting cabin fever, but will stay home. Walking is good for it. Depends upon pain tolerance and how long he can stand. Maybe sit it a wheel chair.
I was sitting at my desk for 2 or 3 hours the next day.

Not sure how a hernia surgery compares to an appendectomy though.
I had a hernia from working out and went and had it repaired in the morning and was home just right after noon and was walking and feeling fine. The next day was the same, no problems. I had my appendix taken out when I was five years old, and I still have my tonsils.

Yikes, was on a biz trip when that happened to colleague - he recovered pretty quickly, but he was probably 80 lbs lighter and 20 years younger than big Mike.

Who would make the big game-time decisions in his absenc?

Is anyone concerned about preparation for this game with Big Mike absent? I’m sure the game plan is already prepared so at least he has in put there.

Sounds like he is already back in some capacity. From what they said on NFLN The Insiders.

All depends on how severe it was, if there is any other infection, etc. Lots of factors even though the operation is relatively minor now. Could be liability issues to have him on the sideline so soon, who knows.

Schottenheimer should take MM's spot so nothing else is affected for one game. He's right there with what MM does.

So is he officially listed as questionable for the game? Asking for a gambling friend

We need to hire extra "security" to "protect" MM from Riddick, Carter, Graham and Cox when they are near our sideline.

wow.. I thought those surgeries take some time to heal up.

Good to know his positive aspirations. In all cases, look forward to seeing him there.

yes all surgeries take a little while to heal up but these types of in and out surgeries you know like outpatient type things I had hernia surgery and in 30 days I was back doing sports literally the next day I was walking like I never had surgery it's just about dealing with the small amount of pain from where they use the glue and the stitches but they're not high risk anything in three days he'll be fine

trust me I've had many surgeries after 40 years old and they heal so much faster than people realize with all the advances in micro surgery and arthroscopic stuff I mean they go in and out and barely make holes in you you see three dots in my hernia surgery but it's not some big tear... And trust me I've had knee surgeries ACL replacement and it's crazy how fast you can literally start putting weight on these things and walk around I mean 10 days after my ACL replacement surgery and I was 48 years old I was walking up the stairs helping one of my helpers bring up a piece of equipment to the second floor of a home and I was not supposed to be doing that but I had no setbacks I was wearing a brace etc

Unless you waited too long to seek medical attention (allowing the infection to spread) appendectomies are typically done laproscopically these days. I am NOT a doctor or surgeon, but feel comfortable in saying that it will be a quick outpatient procedure and by Sunday he'll still be sore but able function. Such a long period of standing could possibly be a concern, I suppose...but I'm sure he has some fairly compentent people advising him, performing the procedure, etc.
