I had an emergency appendectomy and was out for over a week.

He is currently slated for surgery this afternoon, expected to be released later today, and anticipates coaching on Sunday night.

Used to be appendicitis meant five days in the hospital. Now it’s same day. Crazy

I'm sure this incident doesn't have anything to do with MM being obese, right? But it's time for BIIIIIIG Mike to start taking better care of himself. DQ has put on a few pounds too. Nothing worse than a fat coach bossing athletes around!!

my mom had appendicitis, wasn't obese. Nothing to do with weight.

I remember when it was a week in the hospital but today it is a tiny incision and they throw you out of the hospital the same day.

Advancements in medicine throughout the last half of the 20th Century, into the first two decades of the 2000s, has changed the landscape on how ailments, conditions, and injuries that once were considered life-threatening, or reducing\restricting a quality of life ---being reduced to just being corrective surgery.

Well they havent found a different way to remove the appendix other than by opening a hole into the stomach.

Maybe in a few hundred years they might be able to beam it out like in star trek.

Question is if he’s in a lot of pain, and needs to be medicated, do we want him coaching Sunday? Of course I’m sure Mike will do what’s best for the team but I hope he heals quickly and gets back to it soon.

Same here but several years earlier than yours. They showed it to me in glass tube when they were done after I woke up from surgery.

Mine was starting to rupture when they removed it.
They left a tube in my incision for it to drain.
Was 10 days in the hospital.
God got me through it, thankfully!

They might. But it is a really easy procedure now and real fast recovery time. The world of medicine has came a long ways. Guys are back playing the next year who’s careers would have been over a couple decades ago

I became a Cowboys fan in 1975
Lost my appendix in 1976.
So 47 years ago.
