I had a hernia from working out and went and had it repaired in the morning and was home just right after noon and was walking and feeling fine. The next day was the same, no problems. I had my appendix taken out when I was five years old, and I still have my tonsils.Last Friday morning, had hernia surgery at 7:30 AM. Was heading home just before noon the same day.
Up walking around, doing fine. Needed no help getting up out of bed. But will still take it easy for the next week or so.
Now getting cabin fever, but will stay home. Walking is good for it. Depends upon pain tolerance and how long he can stand. Maybe sit it a wheel chair.
I was sitting at my desk for 2 or 3 hours the next day.
Not sure how a hernia surgery compares to an appendectomy though.
