Yeah, getting 11 sacks from a guy who is essentially your 1T/NT is huge. That’s why I said losing Hargraves was such a huge deal. He made a huge difference. Davis isn’t a replacement for him either… he’s just a big guy that ran fast and so Howie traded up for him in the first round. He doesn’t make plays. He’s nothing like Hargraves.
Hargraves wasn't just getting sacks. He was drawing double-teams and making the guys around him look like Hall of Famers. You're right about Carter. He's pretty good but he's not Hargraves, not by a long shot.

I have no idea what you are trying to say here. I'm arguing with someone and I'm saying that Dallas is the second best team in the NFL and much better than Philadelphia. I'm not the one downtalking the Cowboys. Did you read the exchange?

All I said that "more likely than not" Dallas would lose to SF in SF. Is that something you disagree with? Do you think Dallas would be the favorite in SF?

I suspect that you misread the conversation but perhaps not. Are you one of the people who still thinks Philadelphia is Dallas' equal this year?
I think the point is that it’s disappointing to see fans give up at this point in the season before the said game has been played. And if the Cowboys to beat the 49’ers in the playoffs you’ll try crawling back on the ship you’ve jumped off of.

Earlier in the season I would have said that the Eagles have a top 10 defensive line. They have not been playing like they have a top 10 defensive line the past few games.

I wonder how much of the Eagles’ defensive woes are based on fatigue and age. They seem to be getting a bit worse as they go.

Seattle has a great chance to beat the Eagles this weekend. The 49ers manhandled them. Dallas beat up on them and now they go on the road to Seattle who always play physical and the Eagles are minus slay.

If Seattle plays well, this game is Seattle’s game to lose. I would predict an Eagles loss here.

I think Dallas could easily lose too and remain in a deadlock with Eagles.
The last two weeks they went against much fresher teams… I honestly don’t know what to expect from the Eagles on Monday. Their number 1DB is out now… I’m not sure how much that matters, though given how crappy their secondary is played.

If we win, and they lose the number 2 seed is ours…

Hargrave is a 1 tech / NT. Carter is a 3 tech. Davis is a 1 tech / NT.

Hargrave goes to SF, so which one replaces him, Carter or Davis?
Davis and Hargrave are very different kinds of players. Davis is a true nose tackle. Hargrave is a liability against the run…Like Hargrave, Carter is a penetrator…but Carter also plays the run well…

I get what you’re saying though, but bottom line I would rather have Davis/Carter than Hargrave/Davis.

So Hargrave isn’t a 1T? So y’all had Cox playing out of position at 1T last year?

I think how they play is just as important as where they line up. At this point Hargrave is a one gap pass rusher, Davis more of a 2 gap space eater.

I don’t follow the Eagles enough to know how they played Cox…perhaps as an Eagles fan you could explain it to me?

Some fans come on places like this to root for the team, some come on to discuss the team, others come here to vent about the team. Those groups frequently don't get along to the point where they often don't even understand each other.

I'm a "discuss the team". I have no issue with saying that Dallas would not be the favorite in SF and that there is a good chance they don't win the division while also rooting for them and hoping they do in both cases. No one jumped off the ship. This is the best Cowboys team Dallas has had since the mid 90's and its been one hell of a good time.

2023 NFL playoffs: Should the Chiefs, Eagles, Lions, Jags panic? - ESPN+
Let’s keep it simple: The Eagles’ defense is bad. Not bad by last year’s standards. Not bad by Philadelphia’s standards. Not bad by their expectations heading into the season. Not bad by the measure of other Super Bowl contenders. Over this six-game stretch that followed the win over the Dolphins, they have a strong case as one of the worst defenses in football. In the situations that matter most, the Eagles have come up wanting. Since the second Commanders game, Sean Desai’s defense ranks last in third-down conversion rate, allowing opposing teams to move the chains a league-high 54.8% of the time. They’ve also gone 8-for-14 on fourth downs. The Cowboys were right in that ballpark during Sunday’s comfortable victory, going 9-of-16 on third downs and adding a fourth-down conversion on their only try for good measure. Dak Prescott and the Dallas offense were 6-for-8 in the first half, allowing the Cowboys to get out to a 24-6 halftime lead. [...] Most disconcertingly, though, the pass defense feels broken. The 2022 defense approached league records with 70 sacks, and the pass pressure helped produce career seasons for James Bradberry and C.J. Gardner-Johnson in the secondary. There were concerns about how the defense would hold up with changes at the second and third levels, but the Eagles don’t really have a place to hang their hat right now. Over the past six games, they rank 30th in pressure rate, as they’ve bothered opposing quarterbacks just 24.0% of the time. Over that same stretch last season, they were pressuring opposing passers just under 35% of the time, which was the fifth-best mark. They posted a 12.7% sack rate from Week 8 to Week 14 last season, which was comfortably the best in football.

It's disappointing when posters will try to discredit Daks performance by belittling the opposition he just beat......must they constantly move the goalposts?

This doesn't bode well for those that are proclaiming that Dak just tore up a top tier defense. They did get the win against a team with a winning record, though.

That shows a low standard or no standard for the most important thing in life...giving of one's own love. That then becomes ethics.

Well just in case people don't know it's nice to have the option where you can put those people who truly irritate you and want to get under your skin and troll just put them on ignore

I have an epic long list of people on ignore... Occasionally I'll open it up and read some of their responses and realize I'm glad they're on my ignore list because it gets you benched getting into these flame wars with people who just won't let it go seems like their sole reason is to troll a certain player coach or just flat out bash the team and some of them yes are fans of other teams....

I put all alleged or suspected Eagles fans or supporters on ignore they're the worst... But in case y'all didn't know you can ignore people and then you can unignored them later...

Stingy? That very trait of meeting another's real needs creates all heroes in the real world.
