Let me start with-I hope the Cowboys win the Super Bowl this season. However, if I got to write the story before it happened, then….

As a fan, I’ve always liked the team I’m cheering for to win biggest games against the best teams and everyone from both teams playing their best. My ideal scenario for a Cowboys’ Super Bowl is to face the best teams in the NFC followed by facing the best team from the AFC-and winning. It’s more fun, exciting-and SATISFYING than beating a team with tons of critical injuries or beating inferior teams.

It also feels more legitimate. Beating a very good SF is very important for this club to feel like they are graduating to the next level (the quality of the team plus the recent past). Dallas has been a tier two team (there are many) the previous three seasons, and played like it in the regular season and playoffs. We all want them to become the best team-not just be the most fortunate. The easiest path should never be desired from fans that can actually stomach the team losing. Just play your best ball and see where it takes you.

Hopefully we are treated to really good football where Dallas wins anyway. I would not love it quite so much if all the other teams had lots of injuries and Dallas basically coasted to a Super Bowl win.

There's no such thing as a "more legitimate" Super Bowl win. You play whoever ends up in front of you.

You do not like the idea of the Cowboys beating the best competition that is also playing great? Isn’t that the most enthralling?

Troy Aikman and the Cowboys going to SF and beating the favored Steve Young/Jerry Rice and company in a well played game by both teams. Had to be the most satisfying win I can vividly remember.
