Bart Scott played with great players like Ray Lewis, Ed Reed, Shannon Sharp, Rod Woodson and Darrell Revis, who were all not only great players, but leaders in their teams. So his definition of a leader and his perception of who is or who isn’t is colored from playing with those guys.
Clearly, at this stage in Micah’s career, he is not the leader like those with whom Bart played.

Find me another player who racks up double digit sack numbers every year while having the double team and pressure rates Micah has. I'll get on him all the time about his shortcoming in terms of being a leader of this team and him being a liability in the run game, but I wouldnt take anyone else in a 3rd and 10 situation.
https://www.espn.com/nfl/stats/player/_/view/defense/table/defensive/sort/sacks/dir/desc

Micah tied for 7th on this list posted by ESPN, and the guy Micah tied played 1 less game. I would gather that the top 6 also had to deal with the same double teams Micah had to deal with. It's the nature of the position.

I'm not going to say Micah isn't a talented player - he most certainly is. But I think there are others who are better, and several I would take over Micah in the blink of an eye.

If we are talking complete players on the Edge I wouldnt argue. Micah gets double teamed at a 35% rate compared to TJ Watt who comes in at 14%.

Among sack leaders Micah is in the least amount of snaps where a QB holds the ball more than 2.5 seconds.

https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id...-blocking-win-rate-rankings-top-players-teams

Teams were able to run the ball against the Cowboys which hurts the pass rush, and they were able to get into positions where they can get the ball out quickly. Part of that is on Micah as he contributed to the run game issues, however looking strictly at the sack totals doesnt do Micah justice as a pass rusher.

I am loving this offseason. Time to call out all of these frauds.

I could not agree more. The entire Dallas team needs to check themselves and find their path to being better. Stop the excuses and start producing.

Bart's perception as a Cowboys hater is justified and that is his schtick/niche in the football analyst industry. A slightly watered down Stephen A. Smith if you will.

But with all that said, he's absolutely spot on in this case.

I am going to agree. Micah is not a leader. This is one of the problems with the Cowboys defense. They don't really have a leader. They don't have that guy right now.

I would argue they don't have that guy on offense either, although the players seem to respect Dak in that capacity.
(In bold ^^^): What are you talking about? Dak might not berate his offensive players (if that is what you're looking for), but Dak definitely leads by example and pumps up his fellow offensive players all the time whether on a drive winning drive on the field, in the huddle or on the sidelines. Dak not only talks the talk, he walks the walk.

He does? He has said many times he was going to get better then didn't. Remember signing day on his current contract when he said now was the time for a super bowl? Yep, still waiting for that too. But hey, this year they were too tired to show up for their wildcard game.

I said I would argue so here it goes. Dak is not the vocal leader like Troy, or Brady or even Mahomes. Watch Dak's demeanor when thinks go wrong. I don't see him rallying the troops. I am not going to say he is not a leader at all. As I said, the offensive players seem to think he fills the roll. But on a scale of 1-10 where 10 is a great leader, I would put Dak at around 5. I am not trying to dig at Dak, I am trying to give an honest opinion about his leadership skill as they appear to me.

A guy who makes his living off of hating the Cowboys shouldn’t contribute to any our thoughts, good or bad, to the offseason.

It would be like Nick Siriani caring if Michale Irvin said that Hurts is not a top 10 QB. It just doesn’t matter:

What happened to Dak? Has he been seen since the playoff loss? Talk about being afraid to show your face after a bad performance.

I get what you're saying, but you also have guys like DLaw, Lamb, and Parsons who continue to make headlines in the media between interviews, X, and podcasts. You can't say "we were tired" and expect the Bart Scotts of the world to get views by bringing that up for weeks. You can't be a CeeDee Lamb and talk about how many millions you're going to make. You can't be these guys talking about they need more accountability on the team when you're viewed as the leaders of the team and the ones who can make that happen. These guys continue to make headlines for the wrong reasons and it shows the immaturity of this team.

I wont question the talent of any of those guys I listed for one second, they are all three among the best in the league at their positions, but it's clear that the most vocal players on the team, and those with the most vocal families on the team need some serious development in the leadership category.
I don’t have an issue with Bartholemew saying this. I expect as much. It’s the posters who repost it just because it continues the agenda they have. Like @MarcusRock said they’d post comments from the devil if it agreed with them.
