Even if he plays next year he wouldn't be 100%. The Cowboys really need a back that can compete day 1 and through out camp. Bad year to take a chance on a guy who might give you 3 good years unless he's still there in the 5th round then maybe consider it depending on who's available.

I saw this. Typical. Will he even be ready for training camp? I would be very Jerry-like to take him in round 2, but honestly for a guy with a knee injury that may not be healed by the start of the season, I would not spend a 2nd or 3rd on him. There are other options.

You guys are getting up in arms about this as if this is who the Cowboys will pick lol. Or as if they know in March who they will pick and then tell Slater. Be for real.

I don’t think he last to the 3rd. Hes behind benson who likely moved up to early 2nd ish. Reports are he will be ready for camp and the cowboys staff performed the ACL surgery so they know his medicals.

He is also used to sharing the backfield.

Pollard and Brooks are your backs next year. these team telegraphs everything they do

Guyton in the first who needs to learn a new position and an injured RB
I don't care though,,

I don't want another risk and I'm a huge Texas Longhorn fan...

I know who the guy is but you don't do what they've been doing is get a guy that might be struggling out of the gate and be a set back to start the season that means in your mind that we should pick him in the second round that would be another second round injury ridden player with a lot of question marks the Cowboys can't afford to do that this year hey I I like the guy but I wouldn't pick him until the third either I don't care if he's gone and you pick another one or in the second round you get a healthy slightly used very young stud running back in the second round you don't pick a guy with? We can't do that again I don't care if the dude turns out to be the next Barry Sanders you can't keep risking this you know why because we're gonna come on here next year in the off season say how dumb the Cowboys are for keep picking players with injuries in the second round or with? Or taking reach at high in the draft on players there are too many good running backs to take that are healthy and that could be day one starters to get a guy with a? Too early...

I mean think about it I mean the Kansas City Chiefs found their starter in the seventh round I'm not saying to go down there and get them but we don't need to take a risk on a running back that early in the draft I'd rather pick a healthy 1 regardless of how this guy's career turns out which,

by the way I love bijon Robinson too and don't tell me it was Atlantas fault for misusing him, that's not how it works you're either great or you're not and I'm sure he's going to have a good career but he didn't even do what Ezekiel Elliott did his rookie year which was one of the best rookie years ever by a RB, that's what we need a guy in preseason trucking guys bringing an attitude day one...

No need to draft a RB that high especially if Pollard comes back.
Ohh no there's a need I would take a guy in the second round but not a guy with injury? That's the difference here I don't have a problem with them picking a guy in the second round if you know he's the guy he's ready to go you take him we need a guy with attitude physicality some speed like Ezekiel Elliott you get a guy like him in the second round that's what we need what we don't need is one with injury? You can't pick a running back that high with question marks now if he's there at the end of the third round when we pick like the bottom of the third round then sure maybe I'll pick him if we haven't picked our running back yet but no way before that...

I know we're gonna sit here and listen to everybody say yeah but you could get good running backs all the way to the seventh round but that's not a guarantee I'd rather get the guy who's the highest rated on your board in the second or third round that doesn't have injury concerns you go get your guy...

exactly even if we make the mistake and this guy turns out to be the next Barry Sanders and we're gonna talk about him being passed over like TJ Watt or other players the Cowboys maybe should have drafted you know like Randy Moss, we didn't get him because of his immaturity and the weed and the car thing with his girlfriend or whatever... I can't remember but yeah we pass up on some guys I think Travis Kelce is a recent story but you you can't today in my opinion the Cowboys take another risk in the second round...

This year is very different we want a starter every draft pick needs to turn into a starter that means you trade around your limited draft picks and instead of getting seven guys you get 4 quality guys that can all fill needs day one... This is a lame duck year for our head coach we may not even resign our quarterback to an extension this is a proven year you can't draft or bring in guys who are developmental or with red flags , you just can't.
See the difference between me and some others who listen to what Steven and Jerry Jones have said about being all in the way I took it was that is exactly what they mean they mean this year they're gonna do things differently in the draft and free agency it doesn't mean they're gonna sign all the biggest names and overpay for everyone I think they're gonna take a little bit more risk like maybe trading up in the draft getting less players but more quality than quantity and they're not gonna be afraid to maybe go over the cap the next two years by pushing money down the road to feel the best team possible this year...
Again it does not mean that they're gonna get every big name week one in free agency that's not what all in meant to me it just means he is gonna push money down the road make a few more risky moves especially in the draft I think they're gonna move around in the draft more than they did in recent years and get the quality guys... Last year was an anomaly they seemed to feel like they didn't have any glaring big needs at certain positions so they drafted knowing these guys can take the time to develop and become starters down the road but we don't have that luxury this year....

He's 6'0'', 216 lbs, he runs a 4.45 forty and had a 6.1 y,p.c. avg. in 2023. Nice size, nice speed, good ypc average, as well. ;)

Not a bad profile to start with, despite the ACL injury he's recovering from. Will he be selected by Dallas? Maybe & maybe not.

they think they are smarter than all the other GM's, they can spot these bargains, and fix them!
As far as being stupid, they did draft bossman fat in the 2nd round!!!!! What a bargain that was! all the others didnt see that
he was a bargain in the 2nd!
How about Parsons, Diggs, and Lamb?

Guy should stub his toe on draft day so we trade up in the top 10 and re-Zeke this thing.
