forget the fact that 160 million of that was resigning their own damn player.

Get out of here with your misleading BS.
Its not misleading....this is the issue with the Cowboys this offseason. It's not that they're not picking up big name free agents....they're passing on mid tier guys and letting their own guys walk. The ONLY thing they've done is resign their long snapper. KC has made 4 notable moves, two resignings, two outside signings, and they just freed up additional cap space with the Mahomes restructure so they're probably not done as they're $16M under the cap....the Cowboys are $2M under. This is not just an instant gratification thing, it's a lack of any activity thing with no actual path to improve the team.

Seriously folks... it isn't rationale to suggest the front office is totally incompetent. The team has been pretty good and to the OP's point, they have crapped the bed during the playoffs.

But the front office definitely gives the appearance as being incompetent based upon their inaction. To me, most disconcerting, is the fact they don't seem to have any direction or profile for the type of player they need to fit some kind of blueprint that one would think any GM and staff would have. They give the appearance of simply "winging it". For years it was safety. Then, DT. Now, RB. Not to mention just "stumbling" on 2 pretty good QB's by, what appears to be, random chance - Romo & Dak.

Last year - we couldn't run and we couldn't stop the run.

So, we let our starting Center and All-Pro LT go. We have no starting RB's - and, then tell the world they should "come to us" and we will determine if they fit our cost structure that we have allocated for RB's. Maybe the plan is not to have one. As of today, we have 2 LB's. And, one of those isn't really a LB - Parsons. Yet, we cannot stop the run.

It's hard to square 3 consecutive 12-5 seasons with this year's version of the front office inactions.

How many of you are shamelessly overreacting to the lack of Cowboys participation in FA so far? You do realize that big splash signings have an extremely low success rate, right? Save your fake outrage for another day!
None.

I would say many are criticizing more than overreacting. When you say you're all in you open yourself up for scrutiny when you're the least active team in the league. Having said that, I don't really take issue with their inactivity, behind the hypocrisy of a snake oil salesman owner.

All of the FAs we lost were overpaid by their gaining team. The RB market was surprisingly the most expensive it's been in more than half a decade, and no RB on the market was worth the $8M average salary that seemed to be the market rate.

I'd be fine with a JK Dobbins or AJ Dillon signing. Better yet both since Dobbins is talented but often hurt. I'm holding out hope the lack of a market for Tyron could lead him back to Dallas. Bring back Jourdan Lewis or replace him with somebody like Avonte Maddox and I'd be satisfied with their free agency haul. Center and DT will have to wait for the draft.

I don’t care about not signing splash guys. I’m upset they aren’t doing anything. They traded for Gilmore and Cooks last year….this year nothing…..
Yes the entire off-season is already over. No team moving forward can do anything at all.
