POST OF THE DAY I don't get this claim either! He can want whatever he wants he doesn't have to get anything, he can sit out, they can fine him
Prescott, nor his agent, have indicted a salary demand. And Dak will not hold out as he’d still owe the time to the Cowboys, it would prolong his becoming a free agent. I’m guessing Dak and his agent feel becoming a free agent is in his best interest. He’ll be in no itching hurry to sign an extension with Dallas unless it’s for an amount he and his agent feel is approximately what he’d get as a free agent. If the Cowboys don’t want him I think it’s time to cut him and get started with an alternative at quarterback. I get they just paid him $5 million, but the sooner he’s gone the sooner the Cowboys can get to whatever their future is.

4 year $180 million. Same as Cousins but I would Guarantee $100 while Cousins gets $90 Guaranteed.
That's a $5 Million per year raise from his previous Contract, 4 years $160 Million.
But I would add incentives to reach $50 Million:
$1 Million for Division Playoff Win
$2 Million for NFC Championship Win
$2 Million for Super Bowl Win

He has 2 Wild Card Playoff wins during his last contract.
A $5 Million per year raise for fairly mediocre results is more than reasonable.
If he looks a that as an insult, then I would let him play out the last year of his deal and deal with the consequences.
As the GM of the Dallas Cowboys, you wouldn't offer incentives that you're not actively trying to achieve yourself. As the GM, it's your job to put the coach and team on the field good enough to get to the SB.

I am absolutely not for giving Dak an extension this year, but c'mon. Brock Purdy and Jimmy Garoppolo have combined for four championship appearances and two super bowls. You think they're great QBs? They got there because their GM did his job.

There is a nice gap between super bowl contending teams and the Dallas Cowboys. As we saw last year when we played the Bills and 49ers. As the GM of the Dallas Cowboys, first take care of that problem.

So basically lowballing him and hoping he takes it. If your offer is to match an inferior player who is 5 years older, and coming off a major injury, then that is a lowball offer and you might as well have made no offer. If you are doing that you might as well trade Micah, Diggs, and Lamb because you are not going to be contending during their prime years as the team is likely to be 6-7 win team after this year and you might as well start the rebuild.

My contract offer to Dak:
25M x 3 years, none guaranteed
Performance bonuses - Win Div Title - 10M, Lose NFCCG - $5M, Win NFCCG - $15M, Superbowl (win or Lose) - $10M

So he gets to the superbowl.. he is the highest paid player in the league. He stinks it up.. he is one of the lowest.

How about we actually make guys earn their bag instead of handing it out for free?! If he doesn't like it.. go play for the Falcons**

Dak isn't going. He's getting a big extension. Much as I'd like to see a new coach and a new qb in 25. You will probably only see a new coach. Dak, CD and Parsons will be signed around young players like Smith, Ferguson and Diggs. It will be sold in 25 as a new Cowboys rebirth or some such adspeak. Jerry and his boy will tell us that we are now younger, leaner and ready for a SB run, honestly.
As other teams, infinitely better led and with a cheaper and better qb go further and faster.

Really entertaining to watch the cherry picking and adjusting of the goal posts in these Dak threads...

I have seen posts in this very thread using defensive rankings based on stats to prove a posters point about one thing and then claim that Dak's QB ranking based on stats is not allowed lol

C'mon...this is trash

its personal with them for some reason..does Dak need to go, yeah he does but not because he is bad..because this FO ruins players adn our only hope is a group of young players win before the FO ruins them.

He has a no trade clause in his deal. He gets his money whether he plays or not. You could cut Dak right now and move some of his money until next season but, that is all. Dak has total leverage over Jerry.
He has leverage for this season only. Then, the Cowboys can get out of his holding them hostage

Dak is made to look better because of all that around him where a good QB would’ve been able to take advantage of all that.

Dak, much like Romo, was/is a weak link.

The QB cannot be the weak link on an offense.
What qb dosent look better with weapons around him? The weaklink in this franchise isn't the QB.

What? why would Dak sit out..they could bench him but not fine him...lol he is getting paid he isnt negotiating this years contract. Dak holds all the cards because Dumb and Dumber have messed up all their contract dealings for years ESPECIALLY Dak's...what are they threatening Dak with "Sign this or we will let you go to free agency and get bid on by multiple teams!" Dak be like "Oooh no dont do that..please"
That's fine let him do that, I just don't like hearing that he holds all the power ok that's fine, but we've been through a rebuild before, we've suffered trying to find QBs didn't go well, but it's only going well with Dak in the regular season

No. Unless we have him at 20 - 30 mil a year it's basically a non-starter because you need a lot more around him on both the defense and offense to be successful. Just look at the metric of how much reliance we have to have on a running game with him under center. Basically in a nutshell if the Cowboys depend on Dak Prescotts arm, you are more likely to lose the game. If however you are successfully running the ball and even get close to a 100 yards of rushing the Cowboys win. So you certainly are not paying for Prescott's arm in this scenario.
20m would make him the 18th highest paid QB in the league and by far the lowest paid QB not on a rookie contract.

He’s currently the 10th highest paid QB and you’re suggesting he take as much as a 50% paycut.

A All Pro can't read defenses? Feel how you want. I'm just telling you what other teams think. Falcons don't think Kirk Cousins suck. They think he will work with them because they believe they are better than the Vikings. Some team will think the same. Your opinion on him is irrelevant. Teams are not listening to you for roster advice.
Dak is slow reading D's. It's a known thing.
