The terrible message this front office is sending to players

I would ask is this the only profession where others want another person to take a pay that is below value or worth by the "pay scale" and still come to work happy every day and still perform or exceed rising expectations?
Most other professions don't have a firm salary cap where all employees have to fall under.

If say employee truly cared about winning, then would take less (while still making a very rewarding salary) so better talent could fit around the team.

I understand what your trying to say, but let's not act like the salaries of the top players at their position isn't extremely high.

The players perception is different than fans of media.

You have young bucks in Tolbert, Bass, Williams, Fehoko, Golston, Wright, Scott, Thomas getting a chance to step up.

Either ends up good or absolutely terrible

They are sending the message, we want to get better. So if you want to stay here, shape up and play better. You can be replaced.
About time they do this.
How do you decipher this by what Jerry has said and what Jr is saying? Not once has either of them held players/coaches accountable for what's going on, and their all-in mantra is either a lie or they don't know what the saying means. Because of their stupidity and lack of cap know how they have let players walk, this is not sending a message of do better...c'mon now. You tell Hank you didn't play well so we didn't resign you and brought in.....you cut Gallup saying you didn't perform so we replaced you with....you dump your RB1 and replace him with a guy named Rico? If we let Dak play out I will agree with you, if we rebuild I will agree with you. For now, we have no clue what's going on

Who cares?

A bunch of overpaid, entitled scrubs until further notice.

Its a privilege to play for the Cowboys despite Jerry and Stephen being terrible at their jobs
It used to be a privilege when we were really the Dallas Cowboys now that were Jerry and Stevens boys it is truly a curse to any player that strives to achieve winning a championship

Almost 30 years without much playoff success should be plenty of example. Talk in circles and you’ll be fine.

I'm sure the players here are fine with the message. They probably were all wetting themselves when the talk of Bill B. coming here started. Comfy culture, and you only need to produce one good season to get paid elite.

See but we don't know this it's also about being cheap and realizing you have SEVERAL big names to sign to big deals

They just want their money, when it's their turn. There aren't many players these days that really are concerned with winning. The next man/contract up mindset is what Lamb, Parsons and Dak have.
That's the point, isn't it? The only players willing to play for a team that is not interested in winning are players who are not interested in winning ether. All they want is money.

Why would anyone want to re-sign here. Minus the money of course?

This front office has now shown the locker room that they do not care about winning. They have lost too many starters to replace, and have done nothing in free agency to make this team better.

What kind of message does that send?

Well it sends a couple.

The first and probably most detrimental. We dont believe this roster is capable of winning big games. Which is a direct indictment of the current core.
The second. We arent trying to make this team better and we are blaming certain players for that.

This front office has now not only alienated their fan base for the umpteenth time. They have now also alienated their core group of players.

Guys like Lamb, and Parsons are probably thinking. "Wow. They really dont care about winning here do they?" or "They dont believe in us enough to improve this roster to get us over the hump."

Either way. This team is fixing for a very bad season coming.
I wont defend this pathetic fron office but the players saying crap like were burnt out after that pathetic showing makes me feel less sorry for them.Lambs outburst early in game and Parsons is an exceptional player with a big mouth but he tends to get neutralized when the lights are large. But this team will win 9 to 11 games depending on the draft you can book it

Is this not what fans want. They get it, then whine about it.
They wanted change and this is a form of it.

Fickle whiney fans.

How do you know this is only change though, and not just being cheap? They have yet to come out and say anything except maybe a few words about the cap, and Jr is aware that fans are mad. A sell-off is trading assets, we aren't doing this. Do you know the dream of change? All you as a fan see right now is an ability to let guys walk, and in return bring nobody in. At least making change for the sake of change means doing something and not watching the world go by as you sail the seven seas on your Yacht. This is what fans see, and not what any Cowboys fan wants

You know who are that players that care about winning? The players who take team friendly deals.. so I don't see many of them out there anywhere. Business first, game second.

Said Aaron Rodgers when they got to the NFCCG, with a stud QB and RB, but drafted QB Rd1 then RB Rd2 in the next draft... players will still go wherever

And then the front office will counter by telling the players that being a Cowboy will get them more attention than playing anywhere else. If the players want a career in media/broadcasting, playing for the Cowboys will help them. It's all about endorsements, media appearances, podcasts, etc.

That's why so many former players love Jerry and never criticize the franchise's ways, even though they never win anything. Playing for the Cowboys helps set them up for life after football. The team is not about competing on the field anymore...it's more like a business/corporate fellowship now.

You ever think the players may be sucking in the culture from the FO. Why would they improve or show up when the FO wont do the same for them?

Nearly half the starters on the roster have left and Jerry and Stephen have done nothing about it other than sitting around with their thumb up their butt. What makes you feel Jerry and Stephen want to get better? I don't see it at all. Are those blinders wrapped too tight on your head or something?

Have you really read what gets posted on here?

Many want whole sale changes. But they are getting the one they really want, not yet.

Nearly half, wow, who's blinders are wrapped too tight? Not mine. Especially if you think they do not want to get better.
They do, they just aren’t doing a great job at it. But by doing not as fans want, by sitting back for now, does not mean they do not want to improve.

It's been a long time coming and it's been why I've come around to how this offseason is going.

I'm pleased that we are doing things differently and I'm praying that there's an advisor behind the scenes that they are heeding.

Let the coaches also be on notice as well......short of a SB appearance the real ax will fall after next season
