PFT: Cowboys seem to be willing to let Dak Prescott hit the market in 2025

I would take 2 2nds all day long and never look back if I could get that much.
The only way Dak will leave on his terms is if France makes a deal were the other team steals him for next to nothing.
who is going to pay 2 2nd for a 60M cap hit for one year? unless he agrees to a new contract (ala Browns did with Watson)

you said Jerry. right? you talkin about Jerry? you know its Jerry. right? Jerry Jones that is....
Dak was top 5 in Jersey Sales. jerry knows that....
Say what you want about his ability to run a football organization, but you can't say he's a bad business man.

Getting burned twice by a loser is bad business and a bad investment.

with who? only viable team i see is minnesota. they got 2 first round picks. but will they give those up to go with a vet QB who hasn’t shown to be capable of winning when it counts? they’d be back to Kirk Cousins 2.0
No way they give up both, maybe 1. But the problem is Dak has a no trade clause. Why would he waive that for a cold weather team where he'd suck worse? They would struggle to win home games and the other teams in the division are Green Bay, Chicago and Detroit all cold weather teams.

From now until the beginning of the season is going to be fascinating to say the least.

Give me one, Minny. Throw in a 3rd and/or 4th rounder and call it a day.

Jerry and Stephen are not going to let Dak go anywhere! They love him!
I don’t think it comes down to them loving him, it comes down to who can they get that’s better. That’s dilemma with letting him go. It’s not like the Cowboys have a better option to turn to and coming up with a better option won’t be easy.

If they can pull off a draft day trade for Dak, I will cry tears of joy. It is most likely the best possible path forward if they can manage it.

Dare I say that Washington is a team that could be interested? The history with DQ + them really being a QB away from really making some noise makes me think that they would do it. Not to mention that back in 2019 word on the street was that they were interested in him if he managed to get to FA.
I doubt they would give up high draft picks. They probably are looking to get the drake may qb at #2.
They could use dak for a year or so.
But I doubt dak would do it for a short contract, and no way jerry wants dak to go to nfc east team.

As far as replacing him with a better option this certainly is the case.

No, he will be out of a contract. Can’t cut a free agent. All 40M would hit next season
Everyone keeps saying it is $50 million. If it is $40 million that's much more doable. The cap will increase almost that. $10 million difference is couple new starters also.

Can thank the Broncos for making a $40 million dead cap hit look laughable.

It actually looks like they will extend him.
I'd have bet the farm on it at the beginning of the off season. Then they did nothing, and made no efforts to extend him. I can't believe that's a leverage play. It doesn't create any leverage. Dak can simply wait and play out his contract year making phenomenal money, then hit FA and have additional suitors to drive up his price.

What has changed making you believe they will extend him? Or is that just what you've expected all off season?

It makes zero sense to extend him now other than for cap room.

If he plays well this year and goes on a nfc title game/super bowl run…. Then you can pay him.

Even if he is the regular season mvp…. Another post season poor performance you think teams are gonna pony up a lot of cash for him. I doubt it.

But let him prove he can win something before you extend him. He’s a great person but I don’t feel bad for a guy that’s made the money he’s made in his career. He’ll survive not playing without an extension

Don’t know what is worse. Someone getting paid by the organization to pump sunshine online, or someone that does it for free.
I’ve been here for 13 years and never placed anyone on ignore. Not even rockport and his apparent free pass to insult people.

Guess what happened earlier today, and guess who?

It’s to the point where it seems like baiting for a reaction. Once it started working…I’m out.

risk averse strategy will never win big
100%, but we all know that, except Jerry and Stephen.

How can Jerry not know that? Is he senile? In the 90’s when we were relevant( BECAUSE WE WON SUPER BOWLS ), Jerry took risk( see Haley and Deon) to get us to the TOP of the NFL mountain!!!
