Video: What Could Cowboys Really Get In a Dak Trade?

So funny of the back and forth of Dak haters and those that like Dak. Very little is based on football facts or what teams actually believe which is very different from fans.
Trying to guess what the Jones will do is a lesson in lunacy. Extend him, trade him, play out the contract, who knows what will happen.
Fans should at the very least look at the actual facts we know.
1. All current QBs on the roster are in their final contract year.
2. There are at least 8 teams that need a QB be a rookie or a veteran. Teams that feel they are close to a Super Bowl run are more likely to want a good vet QB.
3. Regardless of what fans believe the worth of a player is they will be wrong. Look at past deals and how Vegas rates the player and the possible trade value. They will always be closer to being 100 percent right.
4. Don't believe any mock until the ones that come out the day of the draft. It is all fantasy and smoke until draft day.
5. If Dak does go to a different team and win, then we will have another 1000 threads on it. Just a fact.

I know he hasnt talked to all the players about dak and elliot, so this is just loose speculation, and meaningless.
I dont think anyone knows what the players REALLY THINKS about dak, elliot, and other things.

I like fish shows, but this one was a bit silly and biased.

He did comment on one thing which I agree with, the cowboys are preparing for 2025, not 2024.
By doing what they are doing, they should have a ton of money to spend in 25.
They can just not renew contracts, coaches and players, and build a new team, with new HC.
And that isnt a bad idea, but I will believe it when I see it, and if they extend dak and lamb, that could throw a wrench in
the all new 2025 thing.
If they dont extend those 2, then maybe 2025 will be an all new start for the team, and they will have the ton of cap space to do it with.

I didn’t pay too much attention to Fish cuz Bri was on the screen. One thing Bri talked about was the dysfunction in the locker room and the building because of this contract situation. Whether you like Dak or not this is a destructive situation. I hope 1 or 2 things happen. 1. They trade Dak or cut him before the draft and/or training camp. 2. They extend him and all this talk can end. I think this is very unhealthy to keep doing this. My preference is a trade. But I’d rather have an extension than a whole season of this. What the Jones have created for 2024 is very toxic. Either keep the guy and extend him or trade him. Playing out the season like this will be a waste.

I agree I think “all in” is all about 2025. If that’s the case then just rip the band aid off now. Because if Dak is not in the plans for 2025 and beyond then just start in 2024.

One major point he overlooked was that none of Stafford/Wilson/Watson were openly available in free agency within the next 11 months. Watson had actually just signed an extension with Houston. Wilson was still on his Seattle contract until now… Denver has a bunch of dead cap for an extension that never started. Stafford had 2 years left as well.

When he says “why keep Dak for a lame duck year and get nothing when you could get a draft haul right now”, that works both ways. Why would a team give up a franchise-debilitating package for him when they can just grab him next year for nothing? Only two reasons would that be the case: they’re not convinced they could outbid a crazy team like LV, or they’re built in a way that’s dependent on him today to have a shot at contention in 2024. Basically NYJ with Rodgers, MIN with Favre, etc. Think about how much Atlanta wanted Cousins: with the benefit of hindsight, how dumb would it have been if they traded a bunch of 1’s (Bijan, Dallas Turner?) for him last year? What would that have changed for them?

It would definitely be at least a first, and what more then that would depend on how many teams are bidding against each other. But even just the hint that Dallas may not bring him back and 2025 FA is an option hurts his value a lot.

It would be a team that wants to win in 2024 and not wait to 2025? I’m not saying they would but Minnesota/ Raiders/ and Denver come to mind. I’m ok keeping him and seeing how he and Cee Dee play in the playoffs on their contact years! But if the trade value is there I’d rather collect picks, play Lance, snd sign Micha ( at his new LB position).

Dak wasn’t alone in losing that game. The defense gave up 6 TDs on GBs first 7 possessions. We should have cleaned house after that game. Entire coaching staff should have been fired and we should have attempted to trade Dak. I know he holds the cards so far as a trade goes but I think he would have had a lot of tempting teams interested prior to free agency.

Surely some of you have played on a team where a guy was all Ra Ra and acted the leadership role.
But sometimes that same guy folds his tent when the going gets tough .
Trust me there are a number of guys who love Dak, but do not want to go into a difficult battle with him.

I honestly think people over-rate Dak’s say over the locker room.

1. Family members of top players are out there bashing Dak’s play.

2. Tad is always out there blaming Dak’s “supporting cast” on Twitter, going years back.

3. Stephan A. smith was saying that prior to this off-season at one of the fights in Vegas he ran into a few Cowboys players. Smith reported that they were confident in the up-coming season, but questions revolves around Dak and whether he was capable.

4. Slater reported that a Cowboys WR reported after the packers game Dak panics if his first read isn’t there.

Cooper Rush would like to talk to you about attributing his wins to Dak...

Unlike Dak, Cooper Rush actually won games on this team without the defense getting TOs and when playing from behind after the half. Hell, even the Eagles game was in reach once he settled down after the horrible game plan the Cowboys opened up with. If Dak throws 3 INTs it’s a blow out.

It was 20-17 going into the 4th, but the Eagles than notched a 7 minute drive against the defense.

We haven’t even been tk the nfc championshop game in 30 years. Two teams make it to that game every year. Out of 16 nfc teams That’s 1/8 odds.

1:8 odds and they haven’t even been close in 30 years.

In case you are wondering, statistically speaking, there is a less than 2% chance of this happening.

C'mon man... by any stretch, Dak is a good leader. You can see it in the way he conducts himself both on and off the field: offseason workouts, press conferences, interactions with his teammates, 2022 Walter Payton Man-of-the-Year, to name but a few accolades

Where he comes up short are those games in which he has to put the team on his back and carry them. He's not consistently that guy.

What would be nice is to see him offering a home team 'discount' for a contract extension... that would speak volumes.
