1053 - Is Micah Parsons' behavior wearing thin at The Star?

I think his lack of production in December and January is wearing thin.
I agree and would add his lack of production in games against the better opponents on our schedule. He has disappeared in games against SF three times- two in the playoffs and one last Oct in regular season. And in Jan vs the packers, he was awful.

Obviously Parsons is an incredibly gifted athlete. But some teams passed on him early in the draft because of his occasional reputation of being difficult. It appears to me if he gets frustrated early in a game like he was against GB, he even looks like he quits on a play here and there.

I’m hoping some of this will improve with maturity. He was drafted at 21. But he turns 25 in May so seems like it’s past time to do some growing up.

Here’s some simple advice someone in the organization needs give MP. Talk less. In fact, let your play do most of the talking. Support teammates. Be the hardest worker in the weight room and the film room. That’s real leadership, not doing a podcast or talking to the press only when things go well.

Not sure I understand the question. Are you asking why having 28% of you cap tied up in dead money is a bad thing?

They haven't given out a significant contract all season yet only have $6M in space right now. They could fix that pretty easily with Dak and Lamb extensions, but we have crickets on those fronts. The $70M is a cap killer because Jerry/Stephen want it to be this year. I'm not sure it's even up for debate that they're looking to reset the cap situation and taking their medicine this year. The only real debate is will they attempt to keep the current core roster intact or not. More and more signs are starting to point towards no though. The draft really can't get here soon enough though as that should give us a lot of the answers to the direction of this team.
That seemed to really hurt the Packers last season who had more dead money and a lower cap ceiling. It just sounds to me like the local media is making excuses.

reI'd sign Ceedee to big money and send Parsons packing for some big draft picks.....his production isn't consistent but his mouth is.
.
Trade him for two firsts and call it a day

One sack and eight total tackles in four playoff games. That is very un LT like. They should listen to offers. Disappearing in the playoffs and being the highest paid defensive player in the league don't go hand in hand.
It all starts at the top. Several players have acted like this since Jerry and son took over. Little and Big Abe and their big time circus act.

Might be easier said than done. Micah has probably been told he's "the best" and could do no wrong since he was 8...hope you're right.

Pretty much every player that makes it big in the NFL has been told that since he was in JR high. Some really buy into it

I've said this before: I noticed that Micah does not celebrate the sacks of his teammates...if all, but certainly not with any enthusiasm. When HE gets a sack? 4th of July...and even then when guys are trying to dap him up he barely acknowledges them. I know it's anecdotal, but when you add the selfish podcast where he speaks on other players and makes it harder on the team, the invisibility in big games, the lack of hustle after he pass rushes in year 3...

He's read one too many of his press clippings. The damage might be irreparable.
I noticed this since his rookie year. Then last year he had a bad game, I forgot against who but he was moping even after a win. Dude is a bonafied diva.

The Official station... They love to play Jerry reading their station ID at the top of the hour.
To be fair, they are definitely more critical of Jerry than before, but they do turn around and interview him without asking the real questions, or pressing him about anything.

I believe he's just very frustrated with losing. He really wants to win.
Why doesn't he do something in the playoffs then? Again, we can ask pretty much every player that but still. If he's the man, he should answer the call.

They said something I haven’t heard before, that Parsons is saying he doesn’t want to play past 30. That’s interesting.
