They are going to be good enough to win a playoff game.
LOL. Rambo.

Lets be realistic here.

The rest of the league improved. The Cowboys are hoping to nail 3 starting positions at key areas to improve on last season.

They didnt hit on one draft pick last season. Not one.

Then they sit out FA. Let 8 starters go. They lost more starters than they have draft picks.

The NFC is going to be a tough go next season. And the Cowboys havent improved on the roster from last year. They are much worse. And you think a draft will make them a double digit win team and win a playoff game?

They lost to an inferior roster last season. Yet they will win a playoff game this year? Please explain your reasoning here.

We're going to get 6 wins but they will be important wins."
Notice he has not said one word about winning or playoffs. Perhaps they KNOW this could be a lost season where we will likely miss the playoffs and have a losing record. It could all be part of a plan to use 2024 to prepare for 2025.

Dak's massive cap hit makes it next to impossible to have a competitive 2024 team. So if you are going to be bad, go all in bad. This way you clean the books and ensure a 2025 high draft pick. It sure seems like a fancy way of tanking the 2024 season. Are these coincidences.......
  • MM has hired a new agent
  • for the first time, we heard Dak mention the possibility of playing for another team
  • little or no effort to replace lost starters from last season ( a chance to see which current players can step up or not by 2025)

10 starters?
Tyron, Pollard,Armstrong,Gilly,Tyler,Gallup,Kearse I see 7 but maybe Im missing some.

Pollard this place spent all year complaining he wasnt Zeke and couldnt handle starter totes I dont see a real rough time replacing his output and he wasnt going to get paid with the big 3 due
Williams=Armstrong minus bonehead penalties
Tyler can be replaced rather easily and was one of the weak links on the line hell be upgraded (or should be)
Gilly is getting up there how much you want to pay for him?
Tolbert and gallup literally the same neither can get much separation its not like your losing anyone of signifcance here and another person the board couldnt wait to axe.
Kearse was garbage

we losr depth nothing more i see 10 wins right now prior to draft and if thet shore up a few spots theyll be in the mix. The doom and gloom around here is strong but I get why
even if it is 7, like I said they cant get 7 starters lol. And they will be rookies.
Pollard will be replaced by brooks if they can get him, and he is coming off bad injury, so he cant be what he was at texas.
They can fix a injury, but then it takes a year at least, after they get to being able to run again, to get back into football shape, then back in a groove.
Pollard and gallup needed time, but they didnt get it.

Plus gallup didnt get targets, lamb gets the bulk of targets, and fergeson gets 2nd most. The rest do good to get 1 or 2 targets.
In the GB fiasco lamb was 2 of 7 targets, gallup was 2 of 2 both for 1st downs in the 1st half.
So he outplayed lamb for that half.

Are there NFL teams who are only partially in on the upcoming draft?

Kanas City GM: " I mean, I guess we will make the picks, but we don't really expect much out of this draft."

San Francisco GM: "Personally, I hate the draft. If you would like all my picks, make me an offer."

Jerry: "We are all in on this draft."
Cowboys (Jones) Fan Boys: "Oh my God we are going for it!"
Oh, I think they are def in on this draft but it is part of a bigger picture..........2025. The more I listen the more it appears they are trying to rebuild this team over the next couple of years.......2024 and 2025 draft.

Alright you do you. I think they’ll be just fine . Losing those folks won’t be why they don’t succeed imo if they don’t

hey’ve kicked the can down the road and moved money around in years with worse teams and worse chances- you couldn’t do it now? We’re blaming the salary cap now? Taking our medicine now?
I think the difference now is Dak's massive cap hit AND Dak is refusing to sign any offer that does give him what he wants IMO. Romo and Troy's contracts were much easier to adjust.

They can't even give up correctly. If they are planning on moving on from Dak then why not force a trade and gets picks for him? Same with CeeDee. They are just going to let everyone walk in free agency and get nothing. It is going to be hard to be a Cowboys fans the next few years.

They have made it clear they wanna resign Dak to an extension but I'm sure fans understand it could very well be Dak that is holding this up. He knows he has them by the balls and they can either pay him what he wants or risk the possibility of losing him. Raise your hand if you are willing to pay him $60M today. This is exactly where they are at with him.

It's been funny for all the wrong reasons. And that's something you want people to see? Everyone in this thread (well, almost everyone) was right about how stupid Jerry sounded right from the start. And all you had to say was "watch it".

Same thing with Dak and all the other crap that's been going on with this organization for years now. Most people have understood it, some are in the process of understanding and a few (5 if I am counting correctly?) just keep playing "Captain Morgan" on the Titanic. Because... 12 wins or something.
Most people in the thread didn't watch the press conference.

You know we're doing this on a daily basis every time a statements made and then have a 15 page rant about it how about just ignore what's being said and just watch the season when it comes and we can debate how the seasons going and how it went because nobody knows nothing about these contracts what the roster looks like how they're gonna play until the season starts and yet daily the wrong ridiculous post about things they're saying, just ignore it!!!

How do you force a trade when a guy has a no trade clause a no franchise tag clause literally holds all the cards??!!!!!

you can't force him to do anything you owe him all this money he's healthy he's going to play in 2024 for the DCs! unless he asks for a trade and makes a demand with a team or 2 in mind, which would have happened before March 14th, this deal would have been already in the works in February before teams made a lot of moves already, it's not happening people get over it...

Yes in 2025 there's a possibility that we lose Prescott for nothing or he signs with us after testing the market lots of things are still options but the Prescott leaves here and there's that even 1% probability I'm not giving lamb or Parsons a new contract right now, let them play ,this year with McCarthy Prescott lamb and Parsons all up in the air and then I'm going to trade all three along with Trayvon Diggs and Zach Martin, yup i said it, fire sale...

you want to do this?? let's do it all you want to go all in on collapsing your team and starting bare bones and being bad for the next five years or more?!

that's how it starts start collecting picks now but acting like this is easy to do you might want to check around to the bottom 20 teams in the league and even worse the bottom 10 and find out how long they've been bad looking for a quarterback and looking for a team that can even compete on the Cowboys level ,you're gonna find out this isn't an overnight thing... It could take 5 to 10 years to get back where we're at...it could get far les for far longer than one can imagine..

And by the way most of this is sarcasm because it's as ridiculous as all these reactions to this offseason as if a team typically would blow up an entire roster after three straight years of 12 win seasons equaling 36 wins two division titles three straight playoff appearances go to the playoffs 5 out of eight years and somehow everybody thinks that's the bottom literally everyone's upset over not getting farther in the playoffs well how upset are you gonna be when we don't even sniff the playoffs for the next five years??

Hey but we might we we might win the offseason I mean is that what you want I I think this team fanbase really just wants to have a lot of activity in the off seasons you know with free agency and the draft thinking that somehow gonna make the season even better in the playoffs without actually watching the NFL and how this goes... When you're a top six team and the fan base wants to blow it up it just continually hates everything that's going on you gotta imagine what it's gonna be like when we're doing the three five and 12 in a rows and then having truly bad players and a truly bad coach and having something real to gripe about...
