So he has given up on his dream to be a starting QB and will settle to be a back up?
At this particular point and time the answer to your question should be YES. Because you know deep down in your heart TL is no starting QB in the league and as one poster said, "TL should try to play with one of the other leagues to get some reps that he desperately needs if he wants to be taken seriously in the eyes of the real GMs in the NFL". TL probably isn't able to beat out any 2nd string QBs in the league, let alone Cowboy's QBs Dak Prescot or Cooper Rush.

At some point you gotta think, Chasing6 is a 49er fan with all the hate he has on Lance. Loves everything the niners do etc. Never seen someone dislike a QB that has had his up and downs and trying to get better.

Is it chasing6 for the niners or cowboys??
Who knows? I think the dude is in a "Trance" for some reason, but when he disses Troy Aikman, he is not a Cowboy fan, for sure!

I think the Cowboys are done setting contract records at a time when they can't make it to a conference championship game. Those contracts are for difference makers, not stat makers.

You're about to offend a lot of people that live off stats!

Jerry should have flipped him for a late pick this offseason.
Jones traded for Lance last August 25th - just two 2 weeks before the 2023 started.
The QB did not get on the field for a single play during the regular season .
What makes you think that any team would want to give up draft capital - no matter how late the round - for Lance, who last played in during the first two games in 2022 before suffering his season-ending ankle injury.
Any team that was interested in acquiring the QB would just wait out his last rookie contract year to see how he performs (will Dallas actually put him in games during the 2024 season?) ...then see what happens with what the Cowboys do.

Even with Mahome's their defense gave up less than 17 points a game. So he did not win it by himself. No QB has ever won it by himself period.

Just because the average fan can not comprehend the game, does not mean the QB won the game by himself.
Yaawn. Nobody said he has to win games all by himself. But his contribution has been insufficient every time we faced a fairly capable opponent. And that's the elephant in the room. Heck I wouldn't say a damn thing against a contract extension if he had played good in at least one of the play off losses over the last three years. Or ever.

Thanks, You defend the niners more than you defend the cowboys.... only makes sense.
There is no defense of the trade for Lance. He had little opportunity to play in college and his brief college playing career was at the FCS level. SF took a huge gamble on him. There is no defense of the trade to move up and draft Lance. Spending a 4th round pick on him is not nearly as stupid as what the 49ers traded to get him, but to have no definitive plan to get him on the field isn’t worth a 4th.

What a wasted 4th rounder. Thank you Jerry for being a fool.
Plenty of video on the kid.

Not gonna post any links.

It speaks for itself.

He’s a phenomenal QB.

We are very lucky the Niners are in love with Purdy.

he’s our future QB1.

That’s the plan.

He’s the reason Dak will be leaving us soon.

Yea I really want to see him play. He didn't get a full chance with the 49ers, and I want to see if he can play or not. I am somewhat worried about his injuries in the past. Will be interesting to see.
The broken leg was brutal.

But it worked out in our favor.

LOL, if Lance gets a chance and plays lights out, I don't think there is any question of what would happen. I too want to see what he can do.
It’s obvious Jerry and Stephen think the same.

Not sure how Big Mike feels about the kid taking over.

Big Mike didn’t even know about the trade.

Dak was likely not happy.

Has he even mentioned Lance?

I guess the front office doesn't see this young man as the future. Maybe I'm missing something, but did we trade for him to be the future? I didn't think so. I thought he was just cheap insurance for QB 1 & 2
?

Can we let him get a full off-season in first?

We all want to see him in preseason.

How would you know when he hasn't played yet?
he has played. there was tape. there was NFL scouting on him. should not have traded. rumor is other teams were at best offering low 5s....Jerry had to win this hand.
and it is wasted. he was 3rd stringer. lets give him excuses why he couldn't unseat Rush a very limited QB. then his 5th year option didn't get picked up. which means this is his last year, playing behind Dak.
so we traded a 4th rounder, for a 3rd stringer.....AWSOME
