QB Acquisitions from Aikman's Last Season/Post Johnson Era to the Present

A basically one legged Aaron Rodgers doing what he wanted is the most egregious example of not getting to the QB when it really mattered

Not to mention a one legged RG3 and an average back putting up 200 yards in a season finale elimination game. When it matters most our defense folds.

It has been proven over and over again that the higher the draft pick the more likely there is success no matter what the position.

Jethro has spent how many years avoiding this at more than one position? QB is the most obvious but throw in Safety and DT as well

Every time this defense has stepped up, Dak has played an egg. These weren't championship games but Dallas played KC and the defense held Mahomes to like 19 points and Dak scores 9. How the Philly game where Wentz beat Dak 13 to 9. Its the QB that matters the most. Your not building a defense like the 85 Bears or the 2000 Ravens in today's game.

Now breakdown the games vs. playoff teams where Dak did well and the defense bended over.

No matter how high the draft pick, no qb in history has won by themselves. Nobody is expecting the 85' Bears or 00' Ravens.

The team needs to play well on both sides of the ball in crunch time. Thats how we won in the 90's and that's how we'll win in the future.

You’re totally wrong! Dak played one of his best games against Tampa in the opener on the road a few years ago and our defense couldn’t hold off Brady with the game on the line. Dak played well against Aaron Rodgers in the playoffs in 2016, passing for over 300 yards and 3 TDs but our defense choked in the final seconds. Dak out played Jared Goff in the playoffs but our defense got steamrolled. I’m not asking the defense to be the 85 Bears or the 2000 Ravens but it’s going to take a great defense similar to what we had in the 70s and 90s for us to win another championship.

Dak did nothing for 3 quarters against the Rams other than the opening drive. So your wrong! Dak lays eggs at the worst possible times. And you think that's on the defense. Dak is the biggest freaking choker in the league.

Who cares what Green Bay’s defense was ranked? It ranked 22nd in 2016. Regular season defensive rankings mean nothing. Our defense never plays up to its regular season defensive ranking in the playoffs. We had the 5th ranked defense last season and our defense played like CRAP in the playoffs. If you’re just looking to bash Dak I’m not wasting anymore time with this. Our defense has been the main problem, not him.

They definitely outplayed their draft position, or in Romo's case no draft position. There are plenty of first round picks that did worse.

But yes I would have rather rolled the dice with the first round picks.

Remember though Jerry's infatuation with Johnny Manziel and rumors were he was going to be our first round pick that year? Jerry would have probably screwed it up either way.

Excellent points! I just don’t see any light at the end of the tunnel now or anytime in the future. At least a 1st round QB would put a glimmer in it. If he doesn’t work out, try another a couple years down the road. Relevance is not a SB.

He would probably perform better with just an average running game and a defense that could stop the run occasionally.

Dak's 2-5. Which playoff games did he play well in where the defense stunk? And don't give me last year's GB game because Dak stunk till the game was out of reach. He stunk in the 49ers games. Even in the first GB game in 2017 he had 3 turnovers.

Unfortunately, Matt Moore was one prospect Jerry Jones may should have protected better. Moore was signed as an undrafted free agent and played the preseason but the Carolina Panthers claimed him off waivers, so he did not make the final regular season roster. He does not make the list for that reason.
