McClay's got a decent record of drafting QB's.Definitely trust these guys to find the next QB.
Yikes.

Stopping the run has been a huge issue in the playoffs for many years and our pass rush disappears in the playoffs, which is why we lost twice to Aaron Rodgers. Our playoff teams have holes that can be exploited. We put everything on our QB to have to win the game. It wasn’t like that with Staubach and Aikman.Gotta build a multi faceted defense that can thump the run but also get after the qb in passing downs.
There was a UDFA in 2007 or 2008 that had some starts with Miami. Can't remember his nameThe same breakdown as shown above for members who cannot see the graphic:

Will McClay has a decent record for making recommendations in drafting players. Jerry Jones executes drafting any player based on recommendations and his gut.McClay's got a decent record of drafting QB's.
Do you recall if the player made the final cut for Dallas before ending up with Miami? Dallas was my focus. I am critical of Jones' decision making but think it is fair restricting it to how his choices impacted his roster. That said, his choices that ended up on other teams and excelled elsewhere is another way of looking at what he decides as the GM too. There was a UDFA in 2007 or 2008 that had some starts with Miami. Wrong guy from the article lol. It was Matt Moore I was thinking ofDid some brief googling and found this:

Dallas Cowboys : Veteran cornerback Aaron Glenn's contract was terminated by the Cowboys, who also put kicker Martin Gramatica on injured reserve.
The Cowboys also cut 20 players, including rookie quarterbacks Matt Moore and Richard Bartel, to get to their roster to the regular-season limit of 53 players. All eight players drafted in April made the team, including rookie kicker Nick Folk . (link)

Third-team quarterback Richard Bartel came close to making the team, but he ended up being the last man on the chopping block. I'm hearing that the Cowboys are actively pursuing quarterbacks Chris Simms and Brooks Bollinger. If they don't get either player, Bartel will once again be on the practice squad. (link)

I could not find anything about Bartel going to Miami but he qualifies as an undrafted free agent who spent some time on the team between 2007 and 2008 off-and-on.
Bartel will be added to the list. Edit in a few moments.
They tried keeping Moore by sneaking him on the practice squad but the Carolina Panthers snatched him.Wrong guy from the article lol. It was Matt Moore I was thinking of
Moore started 32 total games in his career. 2011 for the Dolphins he started 12 and went 6-6
What exactly did they play like? Look at all those SBs we’ve won during their tenure. I’ll take the first round draft picks which could equate to an elite QB and SBs over what Dak and Romo did in their careers. Then again JJ has brain washed many into thinking mediocrity is greatness.Imagine if Romo played like an undrafted quarterback and Dak played like a 4th round pick, we'd be one of those teams searching for a QB ever since Aikman other than a few times like when we had Bledsoe.
Probably would have forced our hand though to draft one in the first round.
Elite QB’s are a dime a dozen. Just ask all the Dak haters here. They’ll tell you.A look back at the quarterbacks given the final okay for roster pickup by the Mad Genius during the past 24 seasons. Are there any missing players?
Dustin Vaughn!
Thanks! Graphic and running list are updated. Also, Brooks Bollinger and Mark Sanchez!
True. This is my reasoning for not listing him: link. I should amend my earlier comment by adding in-season acquisitions also.Missing Tony Banks
